About the front bumper of the new body style WTF is subaru doin? Z compared to STI. ***** 4 cyclinder vs. V6. Stop light to stop light no contest. But Highway, "cya little 4 banger."

My STi doesn't have 350whp (It's only a month old). However, if I were to do the same comparison, I'd probably score them similarly to how you did. However, I would definately throw in the look factor and I'd score that STi-1.5 and Z-5. I definately miss the looks but being sideways in my STi is a bit more fun than being sideways in my Z. It was a lot less hair raising in my Z though, I guess I'm still getting used to losing traction with AWD. But when I do get sideways, it's fun in the STi.

yeahh all these people who put down the STi have obviously never driven one...and the little 4 banger? Its not so little when 16lbs of boost is shoved down its throat...I dont understand all the heat an STi brings; it confuses me...yall are acting like I just have an STi and are putting down yall's Z's without ever having driven one...my oppinion (and performance numbers prove it) is the STi is a flat-out better performing car on the roadcourse/AutoX than the 350z, THE END

You're also comparing modded vs. stock. I think it's well documented the Z is the better performer on a road course. When you throw mods into the mix everything changes. About all the "hate" why don't you mod the Z to have better suspension and 50hp more then the STi and do a similar comparison on the WRX boards. I'm sure the reaction will be quite similar..

i used to own a 04 sti before my Z, tell you what, i loved that car... though.. i put on about 50,000 miles, clutch and brakes were gone, and all fluids needed to be replaced, etc... i.e. i didnt want to deal with the maintence cost, so i got rid of it and the Z is just something that turned up at the right price. i think the sti is a much more solid performer, but like the evo, it lacks in quality in terms of sitting in the thing and realized u paid 30+ grand for it. it just feels cheap. i sit in the z, the nice leather and better sound system... wow, it's so much nicer to drive but damn is it a lot slower than my sti. but you know what... who cares? i don't... i've had 2 awd monsters that were performers, but now i wanted more quality, more luxary, the Z gave me that!
fyi - most factory sti's put down about 220 whp at the rollers... but the awd launch sure makes it quick on the street as long as your oem clutch holds also, a full 3" turboback, ecu piggyback, larger intercooler will put you around 290 awhp. not bad.. for like 2 grand

I don't know if this helps, but I was in the same boat a little more then a month ago, my buddy has a WRX and LOVEs it, so I was naturally interested in the STi, I went to the dealer adn drove it, it was a hard ride, felt like I was driving an SUV. I'm a guy who loves the creature comforts, like the leather seats, the nice sound system, and a smooth ride. The STi had none of this and was more money then the Z. Plus what was said before, girls always come up to me in my Z and tell me who much they love the car....they aren't too attracted to the STi. The Sti also is a 4 door car, not a fan, rather get that "sports car" feeling in a sports car like the Z.
....hope this kinda helps

is this the one where the skyline r34 kept staying in the way and then the driver of the s2000 made an error on the last lap?

I have driven STis before and my 03 Z is just as harsh a ride. The Z is NOT a comfortable car.

Also, I disagree with the guy above. Owning both the STi and the Z...Z has way better ride quality.
