Potential problem for 6MT owners... happened to me today.
This is a MINOR problem, but will SCARE the **** out of you if you hear it. There are two flexible, accordian-style, rubber boots that act as dust sleeves for the tranny linkage on the underside of the car. The linkage runs parallel with the drive shaft and this weekend one of the boots was torn apart (how is anyone's guess) and begin to rub and slap against the drive shaft.
Let me tell you, it was a HORRIBLE noise. I thought either my tranny was about to blow or the drive shaft was going to fall out. It's all being fixed under warranty, but is something to know should you hear your baby making terrible noises underneath.
One thing though. I was advised not to drive in the rain because of the connectors for the linkage now being exposed.

I trust this a temporary advisory until the boot are replaced? They're not suggesting that you leave the boot off?
