Anyone happy with a stock z

Still running OEM size "skinny" tires. I had to put in an LSD because it was a base. For the track, you can really push the stock suspension.
Read my mods list. It's mostly stock, and if you saw my car, you would swear that it was.

I could afford to mod my Z if I wanted to but I don't want to. I am looking at a NISMO cat-back and maybe NISMO sway bars, that will be the most I will do besides the K&N filter I dropped in.
I'm happy with my stock Z. The only thing I would mod is the exhaust, it needs to be just a tad louder.
I don't really like any of the exterior mods that much except maybe some lighter 18" wheels. I'm definitely happy with stock power though, I know it could be faster but it feels pretty good now.

I've dumped sooo much $ into my previous cars. My Z is the Track edition which I was lucky enough to find that it came with the Nismo intake, catback, floormats, oil cap, navigation, etc. I just returned from VIR this week as I participate in local DE's and TA's frequently. I'm actually content with the feel of the stock suspension, but I wish it sat a little lower so I will most likely do the Swift springs with Tokico D-Specs. From there it'll be stickier tires, a front lip and tint. Everything else will go towards paying it off and having fun at track days. When and if the clutch goes out I'll do a lightweight flywheel. Brembo pads are relatively cheap and if you're not road racing they are more than sufficient.
I'd say it's hard to get this much performance out of relatively new car with a warranty for less than $25k.

yupp im happy
its also my first sports car....and well 300hp is actually a lot to take in and get used to, for me at least....i really want to start modding....but i dont think ill appreciate mods much if i dont even have a complete feel for my car stock...i want to get to some track days or strips just to feel the rest of the cars power.

Is anybody happy with their stock or near stock car?

Anyway, I digress, that zed gets so much abuse thrown at it, it's had so many new panels etc put on it, and it's still going strong. So not all FI zeds blow up. Thankfully.
My Z is leased, so only mods so far are adding OEM type rear spoiler and soon will be installing the JWT Popcharger, which is sitting in a box waiting for me put on.
Probably NOT much else I CAN do with her.

There is something to be said for a stock car when it comes to taking back to the dealer for service. Had my son swap plugs for Colder and he inadvertantley swapped coil packs on two plugs and I missed it initially. Took it to the dealer and they took one look and said they didn't want to get involved. Its an 06 damnit! Should be covered under warranty! But on that path to major moddum, and unless you want to remove every mod if it has a problem, you're on own.
So like I said, I think if you can wrench the car yourself, then mod. But if you you don't wrench, you will either pay to play or leave as close to stock as possible. This A$$hole dealer was trying to tell me that even CAI would void out his service!

I have driven many Z's 03-06, i only had one opportunity to drive at a track day and it was quite thrilling. Basically if you are able to drive your car to the max in stock form, you are quite the driver.
More power doesnt always make your car faster. Better drivers make the car faster.
IMHO, I would say the 350z in stock trim is quite formidable. Unless of course you are driving as a pro or even semi pro.

plus as embarassing as it is to admit, i know next to nothing about cars. i'm just biding my time reading these forums and wikipediaing everything trying to understand wtf you all are talking about all the time. i sure as hell don't wanna buy crap w/o knowing what it is and what it's gonna do. i think the only thing i'd change in the near future, if anything, would be wheels and brakes.
plus i'm already getting into entirely too much trouble with my stock z... i don't think i need more power right now!
so to answer the question....yup, i'm quite happy
