Default Anyone happy with a stock z

I'm pretty new to the forum and all I read about is how people are adding all these mods and stuff and are still unhappy with their z's. I've even read about people that have gone f/i and are still unhappy and blowing engines and other bad things.
Is anybody happy with their stock or near stock car?
I'm pretty happy with mine, all I've done is put in a K & N ram charger, new sound system and Momo shift **** and Momo pedals. I may get a plenum spacer and was thinking down the road of possibly doing a twin turbo setup, the more I read some of these threads the more I think I should just keep it n/a and be happy with it, I'll probably never track it and don't street race so what's the use. A part of me would like to just know that I have more power but how often would I really need it?
Meanwhile I could save a bunch of money for other things in life.

I'm happy with mine....although if money grew on trees it'd be far far far from stock.

I'm quite happy with my stock Z.

Only additions over factory:
BFG KDW2 tires.
K&N drop in filter.
M1 synthetic oil.

In the near future: synthetic transmission/differential oil.

To be honest, I bought the car with every intention of keeping it stock. I've done the "modify my car" already with my daily driver and, although I enjoy it, I'm done with the headaches for a while with the Z.

This doesn't mean I'm opposed to modifications, either, because I've been thinking of adding an SC if I still have the car in 30k-40k miles.

Anamoly: any difference in using synthetic over the regular oil?

After reading so much about how modding for the N/A route doesn't really produce the gains that one would hope for, I'm thinking about keeping it relatively stock. Another reason would be how expensive mods are for the Z. I don't plan on dropping the kind of money for an adequate turbo or supercharger setup so its going to be mostly stock for me.

Mine is bone stock. Nothing added (except splash guards).

Took it to the track a couple of times. I'm pretty happy with the Z because it was exactly what I thought it would be before I purchased the vehicle.

Besides the pocket book? I feel more confident about going 6K miles between oil changes.

I'm on stock intake / engine / exhaust, with only lowered springs and different wheels. I also go to the track to do timed laps, and very happy.

if you want to keep your car stock, you're in the wrong place! :P

I have a Fujita intake in mine. Other than a few NISMO accessories, stock. Love my car. Hell I can't even go as fast as I want to now. Can't imagine how frustrating it would be with less money in my pocket and more HP under the hood. Even if I had mad money, I would still not go F/I, as I like factory warranty. If I had mad mad lottery winning money, I would be driving a Ferrari. Gotta dream.

I loved the Z when I got it but yearned for something for after daily driving it for one half year of New England spring/summer. I made myself promise I will be happy with a Turbonetics ST...But of course if the engine goes *knock on wood* on comes the Greddy TT and 550hp.

I just have couple boltons. I still enjoy it even after over 4 yrs with 33k miles. Was thinking of FI but I don't want to deal with the reliability issues.

Mines is pretty much stock performance-wise (just have popcharger). I did a whole new sound system, alarm, tint, etc. and a few cosmetic mods. I just didn't feel like spending a lot of money to gain 15whp. I don't take my Z to the drag strip or race (seldomly) so I probably couldn't tell if it was a bit faster anyway. If the Z was more cost-effective at making faster, I would probably do some mods, but for now I'm happy.

After I modded the crap out of my car, I drove my car back to back with a 06 track model, and I really enjoyed the feel of the stock car. It's really well balanced and you don't have to sacrifice comfort for performance. My modded car may be slightly faster around the track, but for the money I put into it, the difference was not enough. If I bought another Z again, I'd probably keep it relatively stock.

If the transmission was any better I wouldn't complain so much.
