Default UK version has special interior feature

When you get the orange leather in the UK, your shift ****, parking brake handle and steering wheel all come in orange as well.

says on the base you can upgrade to the 18 inch rims. does this mean they are going to have to screw with the computer in the car? the wheel size will change all of the computing.

Any ideas as to how much it'll cost to replace both with orange including shipping?

Talking to my dealer in the UK, he tells me that we (the UK) will be getting the orange gaiter on the Handbrake & the orange Shift Boot...

... he does think that the orange steering wheel is a typo & I would tend to believe that. Would it wear o.k.? Wouldn't it get amazingly grubby?

Remember, we haven't seen a UK specification vehicle yet, so this is all hearsay until October 2003.

We're still waiting

I could see the upper and lower of the steering wheel in orange, but the sides should be black.

so long as outer diameter doesnt change(which it wont) then it should be fine. the 17" rims just have larger sidewall on the tread.

OK - Nissan displayed a UK specification model at Brands Hatch yesterday (preliminary)

It was a Sunset with Burnt Orange interior.

So finally, we get to see the Orange gearshift, handbrake & two-tone steering wheel... with SIX control buttons!

Pic is courtesy of Gizmo.

All I can say is that IMHO the US spec with seats only in Orange looks way better. Glad I went for the black interior

Dont know if it is enough to matter, but the diameter of the front 17's are .1 inch less than the front 18's. And the rear 17's are .4 inches less than the rear 18's. At 60 it puts the speedo off by 1mph. I dont know how much that would affect anything else. Im sure it wouldnt.

Hey Giles

In Australia, we only get offered wither black leather or Burnt Orange leather seats (no cloth alternatives - which is ok with me as I took the orange seats. I think the orange gear **** / handbreak / steering wheel combo is a little over the top though and I would have taken the black leather in the UK as you have selected.

What is the silver (sticker?) item located on the sat nav lid in your first pic?

I think it looks cool - the color is more integrated into the cockpit. The burnt orange in the US models just looks so out of place (hence why I went with all black interior).

But if I had the choice for the UK style, I dunno...might have had to go for it.

It's basically a disclaimer note, stating that the car is a pre-production model & may vary from the final release model - yada, yada, yada...

By the way credit goes to gizmo & girlracer for the photos.

The extra Orange bits have caused a bit of a storm over here - looks like there could be a few customers on the phone to Nissan for a
