The last time I was at the dragstrip. There were several 05-06 Stang Gts running 13.9-14.1 @99.5-101mph. One had minor boltons which ran 13.7. For a V8 muscle car they are not quick enough.

 

People hate on the Z becuase it is a 25-35k entry level sports car with $50k+ looks. The 350z "looks" faster than it really is, even though it competes well or beats every other car in its class. People always go out of their way to try to put down the car becuase they feel that it should drive and handle with the "porsches" that it looks like.

These people are only ignorant though, most of them think that Z's start at $40k sticker. I dont know about everyone else here, but I paid 23k for mine back in 2004. Go figure...

As long as there is jealousy there will be hate. Only thing you can do is learn to drive your Z and put these people in their rightful place.

I don't drag my car, I autox it and next year I will be hitting the track. The car is too wonderful a machine to simply slam it down the 1/4 like american muscle. Yeah a MKIV Supra may beat some Ferarris down the 1/4 but I'd rather drive the Ferrari.

 

I think the people that hate on the Z is because it steals all the attention at the parking lot. Atleast thats been my experience and I've only had my red Z for a week. Kinda annoying really cause everytime I look out the window at work I see people trying to look at the interior and I'm biting my nails hoping they dont accidentally or intentionally scratch it

Maybe some people have real reasons as to why they don't like the Z & their owners, has anyone ever considered that?

 

I used to be a Mustang owner, sold it when i got my '05 Z. But anyways, i still have a friend thats a hardcore Mustang guy, runs a 484rwhp mustang. All day he talks smack, "for the money, mustangs blah blah blah. Ferraris and Lambo's are overrated blah, blah. Civics are %$%". Despite his ignorance and hate towards people w/ more money than him, he's still my friend.

My argument to him is this. If you think Lambo's, Ferraris, Porsches are crap because you can take the same money and put it into a Mustang and "beat the **** outa them and outhandle them". Then wouldn't it be the same as a Joe-Schmoe with a '88 Civic comparing his mod'ed Civic to the Mustang? Its all relative and it really doesn't end anywhere. I could have kept my (first car) '92 Mazda Mx-3 or even my '90 Mustang GT and beat the hell outa my 350Z for probably alot less money but i wanted to start at a higher platform. It's my damn money and i'll do what i want!

 

Besides the outside haters, we also get hated on by some smart a ss fellow forum members here if you do not say the right thing. That my friend is fucckking sad. So I am not suprised that the world if full of fucckking haters.

 

I know how this goes.

I have a friend who currently has a black '02 automatic mustang convertable. He is also a member of blackmustangclub.com. Usually when he comes to me he'll add in a ricer comment once and a while, which throws me off. When I tell him I'll race him with my "ricer" car, he backs out everytime. He does not want to race at all.

When we run quarter mile, he'll still add in a ricer comment after running a 16 stock, compared to my 14.6 stock (with TCS on and auto!).

I plan on putting up a 13 with my mods in his face with TCS off tonight. I got fingers crossed for a very high 13.

All we can do is prove these people wrong. Not with our words (most of the time), but visually showing them who is fast.

 

Any make or type of mustang sucks donkey *****, period. I'd take a Z over any mustang anyday.......man i hate mustangs, their over-glorified "sport cars".

Build quality of a Chrysler is bad???? Daimler Chrysler, i would say out ranks both gm and ford in quality. I would say they are very close to Nissan, if not better.
