haha, I've been in a rush to go somewhere and I've forgotten to push the clutch in and I'm like "wtf, my car won't start....(10 seconds later) GOD I'M AN IDIOT".

I don't let off the clutch unless I know where the shifter is at. I guess it's a habit? I usually start the car in neutral anyway... my car is going on 3 years and has never been stalled once.

It happened to me a few times too. But it's always after someone parks my car, i.e. parking attendant. I personally always leave the car in neutral when I park. It'd suck if you hit a car in front of you or hit a curb and ruin your lip because of it though.

No, but I put both feet on the brake and use my left to search for the clutch anytime I drive an automatic.

That's what the e-brake is for. My habit is to leave it in neutral with the e-brake engaged. Once, I left it in 1st for some reason (early onset Alzheimer's?). So the next morning, without noticing that I had left it in 1st, I started the car and dropped the clutch (it's my normal practice to start the car up and let it warm up a little while I put my seatbelt on, etc.). Well, good thing I use the e-brake, otherwise I'd probably have lurched into the wall and into my kitchen!

Nah, haven't done that. I'll admit though that the first time I went to fill up the tank I left it out of gear and forgot the e-brake...I jumped back in for the save. oops. =)

I usually make sure to leave it in first with the ebrake on also. I always check though to see what gear it is in when I start it.

I have stalled it when I wanted to park the car though, letting the clutch out while having it in first, but not toooo often.

Yeah. Happened to me once. I must have been tired in the morning and forget to take it out of gear. I had a good laugh at it.

Even funnier was just this evening when I pulled in. I forgot to put the parking brake on and was taking my laptop out of the back and the car started rolling back. I had to jump in and hit the brake.

First time for the brake too. Things like that happen. We are all busy and have other things on our mind and sometimes forget things.

Happened to me before. Just have to rememeber to be careful.

For example: One time I was outside washing my car and I see this beat up ricer integra coming down the road about 20 mph with nobody in the car!! It just keeps going about 100 yards and drifts off the road into a tree. I go over and look at it and then walk up the street to the guys house who owns the Integra. He's inside eating a sandwich. I say " Man, you know your car just rolled down the street and hit a tree"

When you get lazy bad things happen. That car could have rolled over some kid or hit another car.
