I would let my friends borrow my G35 or my Chevelle, but not the Z for the simple fact that it has 554whp and is very very easy to break loose on the street. I trust them not to do anything stupid, but I don't trust them to know how to handle a car with that kind of power. None of them have ever driven anything that powerful.

exactly the way I feel. The car can be fixed/replaced, but a person is another story

Definitely not, I won't even let anyone drive it. It slides way too easy if someone isn't used to powerful cars. And most of my friends aren't.

I just bought my Z last week, coming from a Sentra. I've lost the back end quite a few times taking corners...I don't trust anyone with my beautiful car!

I don't borrow vehicles nor do I lend them out. I barely let my wife drive my Z.

ive let friends drive my car but with me in it... only my family can drive it without me in it since that generally only happens when i need to switch cars and borrow one of thier SUVs

I dont think id be friends with somebody that would routinely ask to borrow my car and then pass it off as their own. Maybe if i really owed a friend and they wanted to take it out one day, but who passes a car off as thier own to impress people? I dont know, just not the kinda people i like to hang around with i guess.

you guys are gay.
most of my friends have owned/driven actual fast cars, so letting them drive my z is no biggy. less than 300 crank hp and over 3300lbs??? the car is no rocket and the vdc keeps idiots from breaking the rear loose at every turn.
i let my brother borrow it routinely and i let my good friend drift it for a day.
it's just a z. i agree with others here though, even if i woned an 07 z06 i would still let friends/family drive it. i teach my g/f to drive manual with it from time to time. the car is fine...

Hm... How about my mom's nephew? He's seeing someone, and wants to impress her by taking her out on a date in my car.

Should I let him borrow it? He says hes only going to borrow it for one hour and reassuringly tells me that he knows how to drive stick.

??

I will let my parents and my brother drive my car, as well as my 2 best friends. I will let my family borrow the car, but I wouldn't let my friends borrow my car because I need my car.

Before letting any of them drive it, I would need to take them out first before they took it out on their own, so I could make sure they knew what they were driving first.

I wouldn't let my friend borrow my car! I won't even let them really drive it unless I'm totally sure they will drive it good and not burn/pop the clutch to much. Just because there good friends doesn't mean you should risk letting them wreck/hurt it.

I like to make my friends happy which makes me happy also, but that's when I buy them a coke or something......
You imply that I would lend my car to friends that wouldn't respect it. I can guarantee that when my friends drive my car they respect it. If they ask for it, that means they need a car to go somewhere, and the Z is a car to me. They're not going to drift it or do anything like that. Now if they DO mess it up, no biggie, I'll get it fixed, it won't cost me a cent, and if it's broken I get a new one.

I'm an enthusiast, I love driving. It really actually makes me happy when I can drive a nice car. Why wouldn't I share this with my friends ?

Hell I'd sell both cars in a heartbeat if it meant helping out a friend. That's what true friends are for. I know they'do the same for me.
