just call nissan usa and give them your VIN. they can tell you what trim level the car rolled out of the factory as. the end.

The "point" about altering your mileage is that you are a thief who will eventually screw somebody over. A fellow Z enthusiast to boot.

 

Dont forget the whole FEDRAL OFFENCE thing either. Altering a vehicles ODO is against several federal and states traffic laws. Missrepresentation (sp?) of of a vehicles state or condition (altering odo, replacing engine and not stating, not telling if it was wreck, ect) in a sale is also against the law. Um you can also add fraud to that list if you are trying to milk the warrenty. Hell if the miles are recorded in the ECU as well and you take it to the dealers for warenty and they catch it. Boom a big @$$ bill for any warrenty work ever done on the vehicle plus they have the right to notify the DOT on the spot of fraudulant documents. Yep every year you regester the vehicle, if your state checks ODO; your screwed each year regestered until the initialy regestered it is a seperate count.

Just had some one I knew back home get busted for this during a trade in. Still going through the **** right now. On Accords the ODO stores in ECU and the cluster. Mem is kept in cluster after its unplugged. Fished junkyards to find the lowest milage cluster and switched so he could get a better deal in the trade in. Long storry short got charges brought up as previously mentioned plus the dealer is taking him to court for damages and fraud. All for another thousand or so bucks on a deal.

Yeah dude you do what you want but dont get caught or sell it. But if some one realy wanted the lower miles the cluster switch would be a way to go. You would have to find a totaled Z cluster with minimal miles from the same year range. By no means am I telling you this is right or legal just saying this is how it can be done.

EDIT: OOPS! Answered wrong window But yeah look up google and do a Vin decoder search or call nissan with the vin. But this is an answer to your previous post because it seems you may be to involved in finding out your current trim level to look at the other thread. ONE STOP SHOPPING BABY!

Just search for something like vin breakdown 350z and it will tell you which character means what model.

The only point I was making is A) cover your dumb @$$ there are cops that keep an eye out on this forum they drive Z's too, and if there is a crime they have the right to investigate it.
