I realize that if i drive my Z for long distance without traffic, i get the
the exclamation mark in the left gauge

is it normal? because i looked into the manual and it says the exclamation mark is warning for the tire pressuse.
i am planning to drive all the way to vegas from LA
(about 250miles)

is it safe?

 

i wonder if your tires are heating up alot on long drives? reduce the PSI to the min reccomended for your tire and try it again

 

nitrogen may actually fix it if the overheating at that pressure turns out to be the issue

 

Do you have tire pressure sensors in your wheels at all?

If they are not presant in the vehicle at all, that light comes on after 45 mins...

the valve stems will be metal and solid... wont beable to move them around like rubber valve stems...

yes thats fine it doesnt hurt anything... you just have a yellow light on in your car...

will not affect the performance or driveability if your car...

And by the way.... Yes tires do heat up when driving... even short distances... You want the min air pressure to be around 32psi on stock 18" size wheels and tires... the TPMS sensors will go off if they drop below 30PSI...

Tire pressure will go up to as high as 50 PSI at track tempretures depending on what your cold tire pressure is...

the maximimum listed on the tire is a cold pressure... the tires can handle alot more then that...

Nitrogen is used alot more commonly now since it does not change pressure with tempreture... the wheels I used to have NT03+M had 2 valve stems which were ideal for nitrogen use...

 

You can risk your life if you want but don’t blame it on me if all the tires explode and you get charred black in a ball of flames.

Is there a way to disable the blinking PSI light. It always goes off when its cold now and it makes me angry. I hate that thing.

 

there has to be a way to jumper the the wires remaining to simulate the pressure sensor sending a signal that makes the light go out....but I have no clue of specifics or if it will require a resistor.

ive never seen that light, and Shezhot has seen a many long journies up and down the east coast

 

1. Your tire pressure is probably good...
2. 03 base model's or ones with 17" wheels did not come with TPMS system

It shouldnt come on during long distances unless tire pressure goes DOWN...

 

i drove 400 miles from NJ to OH and the light came on and after a 30 mins pit stop the light went out and my tire PSI was around 36 i think when the PSI runs high it might be a warning to let some PSI out

 

The Tire PSI light only comes on when tire pressure is LOW or if the sensors are NOT READING!

It will NOT come on if pressure is TOO HIGH!

 

are you sure, I had a light but no pressure gauge...so I put some air in to tide me over, the light stayed on....when I got home and checked it was over serviced...I let air out and light went away. But I haven't checked the documentation....anyway, is there a schematic of the system...we should be able to find a jumper wire that will stop the light from comming on for the OP
