Default Thinking About Buying A 350Z

I drive a 2003 VW GTI 1.8T, I've done a lot of work to it, but I now feel at 27 like I need a more grown up car.

I've always loved the 350Z, and @ 300 HP I think I can keep it completely stock and be very happy.

Don't want a STi or an EVO, I feel they are for a younger crowd.

What do you like about it?
What do you not like about it?
What other cars compare to it?

Any advice you guys have to give me would be great!

Thanks in advance,
- the Beef

Z is not slow. Z is about the best platform you can buy next to a supra (good luck getting one of them).

Has a lot of potential and is strong for a stock car.

It's not slow... On a road course with good tires, it will hand most cars there @$$ including the Sti.. It pulls alot harder then my girls 04 STi from 3rd through 6th gear and her STi has BPU... I'm 26 and it feels nice to drive a grown up car. It will make you happy every time you walk up to get in it, and it delivers great bang for the buck as well as being easy on the eyes... The girls LOVE it as well... Trust me... good luck

Depends on your desires. I didn't buy my Z to be the fastest on the road, I bought it because I have always loved these cars. Previouly owned two 280z cars before and was very happy with them as I am now with my 350z.

Basically I like to drive fast and take corners, and the 350Z will surely do that for me. Secondly I would like to feel more grown up in a car, and of course I want the girls to like it!

Sit on a thicker phone book, shortstop.

I like going 150 MPH. It clears my mind. For those few minutes there is nothing inside my brain.

i have to agree... the Z is a great car. especially the 06' (since i have one..) 300hp, high 13 sec 1/4 times... not to mention the looks etc... Try passing off your STI or EVO as a "cool" car to your girlfriend or wife... aint easy... especially when you're in your 30s.. I have no mods at all and enjoy the car. I've been through the modding bug and have no desire to go through all that again!

The Z is a great sports car and it definitely is not a slow car. If it's slow, it's because of the driver . . .

I would hardly call the 350z slow. It runs 13's stock from the factory and can hand quite a few cars their asses in any kind of race.

the Z isnt slow, and if your looking for good handling and fun in the twisties and such its for you...you will have a hard time reaching the limits of the car out on the street. if you're looking to buy new, consider waiting for the 07 thats coming out shortly as it will have the new HR engine thats pretty reworked and has much better potential although only gives a 10-12hp boost.

I agree with this. Im slowly modding it but i feel that i dont NEED to mod my Z as with my past cars because its already to my liking. I had a 1997 eclipse turbo and had that all built up. I sold it and bought my Z and im extremely happy with my decision. I'm not pissing away money on my car as before and i can focus on more important things like starting a family and getting a house.
