Mmm, mmm... we love that crack!
Seriously though, it's disappointing that the 350Z has become the new Civic in terms of "tuner car of choice". No one could have predicted the resale value falling so drastically. Most people on the boards don't appreciate all the effort, research, and "love" that went into building the car. Some can relate and recognize all the factors.
Is it worth $60K? IMO, no...it's worth about $90K. Of course getting that figure is very unrealistic. We also realize getting $60k is tough. Although the average consumer could not build one to that caliber for the $60k price. Anyone who understands what's involved with this type of build would tend to agree.
That being said...a little more about the car:
Only 4000 total miles. 3000 miles on the built engine.
Crower and CP internal (no cheap SRP or Eagle parts)
Stock cams and heads (R/D purposes for retaining OE parts here)
Never seen snow or rain
Never raced or abused (although tested thoroughly)
3 maps (2 pump fuel, 1 race fuel)
Designed with the street in mind
Turn key reilability
No rice here, no ice here. Strictly high performance.
Nothing was budget compromised.
Condition is "new"
We consider this car for someone who wants a weekender...someone who wants supercar performance with porsche boxter cost. The car could easily be a daily driver, but the rims and lip kit are less than suitable for such duty.
We are taking a huge monetary loss at the selling price of $60k. That is the cost of expertice. We understand that. The only reason for selling the car is to make way for another...maybe the new GTR...maybe the projected new Supra...maybe a G35 (*hint*).
Thanks for all the buzz.
Regards,

You have to realize that because a car is modded it hardly adds any value to it. You may see it that way but most people dont. Ask BigBri how much of a hit he took on his car.

I am sure you have been in the business long enough to know that you will never get back all the money dumped into modding a car, no matter how great it turned out.

hey isn't VIP a sponsor on our site? i could have sworn i saw a thread made by them just yesterday...hMmm. I'll see if I can find it. Now back to the topic at hand. The car is nice to say the least, but worth $60k? I hope they make close to what their listing it for but I doubt they'll make $60k on a 350Z.

Question USED. With the power you guys are making on this car, why didn't you go with the FCON? Resolution is 32x32 vesus 10x10 on the UTEC. Much more precise tuning if you ask me. Nice car for sure. A twin turbo supra cost damn near as much with half the power. Good luck with the sale on that sick Z.

I agree with you on the FCON. Awesome unit.
