Boomers in Z's
At 44 I don't consider myself a "boomer" but always wanted a Z since the 240. My dream for a long time was one of the flat-back 300ZXs. When Nissan announced the 350Z (around the same time as the release of the Sunburst Yellow SpecV) I mentioned to several friends that if Nissan ever released a Yellow Z, I'd have to buy one.
Guess what sits in my garage now...

46 years old here. I fell in love with the Z back in the early 80's while living in Japan. The Fairlady was a pretty different looking car than the rest of the stuff on the road. When it came time for me to retire two years ago and settle down I bought the Z as my retirement present to myself.
55 Years Old Ex Hippie But Always A Motorhead. Recently Bought A Like New 2003 Touring With 7300 Miles On It. Before The Z I Had A 2004 Gto. The Z Is Just As Quick And Used Way Less Gas.
Born in 55. When the 240 was new, I was driving my first sports car.... a Fiat Spyder (orange with a rag top). Although they were fondly called " Fix It Again Tommy" (F. I. A. T.) by the mechanics, mine had 115,000 miles on it when I traded it in for a first gen RX7. A really fun little car.
I remember calling the Fiats that except here we said Fix It Again Tony, I guess because it was Italian car. Fords also had Found on the Road Dead for their cars.
Nice pictures from everyone. It is great to be in a place where everyone from the racers to just drivers like me love their cars so much. My Z always causes comment wherever I go and I've never had that happen with a car before.
It's also great that all ages enjoy the Z.

Only 31 here, Don't know if you would classify me as a kid or a boomer but just bought a 2006 350Z and love it. Take care of your toy and it will take care of you!
Unfortunately, it is usually the older people or the ones that have worked there A** off that take care of and enjoy what they have earned more. But we don't need to get into the subject of parenting skills. Let's all just get along and ejoy our cars together.

57 years old… First car was a Beetle, then drove a Porsche 912 (4 cylinders and not a “performance car,” but sure handled well for its day –fun to drive). Then it was a long run of “practical” cars, but usually a MT. 2003 was my great car year (that’s when I bought my Z Performance model). Where I live there is about 4 months of ice and snow, so the Z rests while I drive a Jeep Commander. Waiting for spring. --Spike
58 and the Z is great. When I married my wife in '73 she had a 72 240Z but it wasn't for the car. Honest. Anyway a couple of months later she needed a truck to haul horses and traded it in. We've regretted it ever since.
When the 350 came out in 2002, the kids were grown and she said "go ahead". So far I've put over 113,000 miles on it. I became interested in autocross and have run 30+ events in each of the last two years, SE Divisionals and went to Nationals in 2006. Sally has supported the addiction because she says it's the first hobby I've had in 30+ years and it gets me out of the house.
I wish I could have done this 20 years ago.

yea, i am a below average age to have a z, i purchased it when i was 21 off of a trade in. i loved my civic but it doesn't compare to the z at all. i plan on saving this z cuz I put so much work into it, and hopefully i can afford the next model (2009?) when it comes out. i'm starting a z collection!!
For all those saying they're too young to be boomers, it's only a word and we were stuck with it for our lifetimes. Z lovers is what matters.
Interesting the person who said they saw more older people in Z's and G's. I'm not sure why Z because I think they are reasonably priced. However, Infiniti might definitely be a price thing.
Has anyone driven both, and how does the G compare to the Z?

My brother has an '04 G35 Coupe. It is much heavier than our 350Zs but the front seats are definitely more comfortable than our Zs. Even though the G is a 4-seater, there are quite a few members here who have raced their Gs. The Z is definitely a sports car compared to the G.
