As for the dealer doing it, and not asking you... not cool.
And you got raped by the wiper blades.

+1 nitrogen is beneficial. I don't use it....but some do. Pressure is more consistant...good for those who hate to see the PSI light when it gets a bit colder.
the nitrogen. i like it and i sell it but for alot cheaper...30 for all 4 and free add or renflate, read up on it a lil its good stuff, i work for big o tire in indiana, and i highly recomment it. but as for blades, ehh, i duno about that, but the nitrogen was worth it. go to nitrogeneration.com and read a lil
They could see the "sucker" written on your forehead a mile away. Not to worry though, because it happens! You realized the mistake, came and asked some people about it, and now you're armed with the knowledge to not fall for it again, and to be more skeptical.

I rolled up the road to Tischer Nissan off 198 in Laurel, and they gave me EXACTLY what I asked for without batting an eye, and were just all-around wonderful to me. I felt like a rock star there. My Herb Gordon experience left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I would never go there for anything.

at least you got out semi unscathed.
i had a burnt clutch disc. the dealer told me i needed to replace the entire clutch assembly including pressure plate, bearing and all that jaz. damn near cost me 2000 alone for the clutch kit. told me i needed to replace my flywheel because it was "toasted". They claimed the part cost 1200 dollars, and so of course i found it online and the nismo one for 500. called the dealers bluff and they did it properly for the 500 instead of trying to rape me out the ***.
an oxygen sensor costs 300 dollars to replace at the dealer. the part costs 80- 100 at autozone, and take about 20 mins to replace.
They charged me 300 dollars (which he later said he only charged 150 cuz he was "giving me a deal") to change out tailights. the labor alone he claimed was 300.
are you starting to get the picture. the only time i will EVER go to the dealer again is when i buy a new Z. find a good mechanic and never look back.

Which dealership was trying to rip you off? I live in Plano as well, need to be aware of.

+1 on DRY Nitrogen (dry air would be OK too).
The issue is that it is DRY -- no (or very little) water vapor.
Think about it -- water goes from solid to liquid to vapor in a relatively small temperature range. Liquid/solid is significantly smaller in volume than vapor, so as your tires heat up, the small puddle in the tire from the condensed water vapor you can get LARGE changes in pressure simply because of the phase change of water from liquid to vapor (and back again).

wow you got ****ed. first of all, why would you ever need new blades, just get the refils. on my buddies roadster, they put new refills in at the dealership for 10 bucks i think. as far a nitrogen goes, it does make a difference according to some "experts", but you shouldn't pay for it. belle tire does it for free when you get new tires. honestly i would find a new dealership to service your z at if you really want to go to nissan as it is your first brand new sports car. imo, however, you buy your car at a dealership, and never let them touch it again.
This is why stealerships make $! Unbelievable!
I bet most of their bogus charges was inspecting various parts!
This is why I hate greedy ****ing PEOPLE, whether it be lawyers, dealerships, ect!

+1 on that! I'm at 48,000 miles and the dealer has not touched my car except for the 1st oil change (free) and a couple of warranty items. I keep good records for all the PM I have done in case they try to blame a future problem on them not doing the "scheduled maintenance" which is pretty much just looking at your car. Stealerships indeed.
