I bought my 2005 Track for $36k OTD June '05. KBB said it was worth just under $24k.

Craziness.

I take my time when I buy parts for my car knowing well the consequences to every decision I make. I follow what I want to do to the car, which is to build a nice well put together classic car. My aim is to remind people 10 years from now how nice/classic our Z is when they see it driving down the road.

Well the real thing is I don’t feel the Z is a specialty car! Its just a sports car they have never been rare. Where did that ever come from that they were a rare car?

I don’t feel if you drive one you should feel special because they are not any more than metal with a nice design.

Drive a Bentley or a Maybach there are some specialty cars for you.

You own a Z for the feel of the power if its not enough you add mods to get more. Value will never be high in any car that is taken out rode hard and put up clean!

Oh and I bought my z 3-06 for $19,800!

That's exactly how I feel. I plan on keeping my '05 GT Roadster for many years, if not forever. The fun factor should stay strong, and for a second car at the price I paid, I think it'll give me a great value over the long run. I'm not too concerned with current values. In 10, 15 or even 20 years, a mint '05 Roadster is gonna be a GREAT car to have. I love the Z, put Nismo's on two weeks ago, my first mod! Just cleaned her up today and she's SWEET!! Looks like another perfect weekend coming up in So Cal too!

Simple supply vs. demand. There are over 120,000 350z on the road in North America right now. They are dime a dozen. And with the number of Zs on the used market right now, there isn't enough demand to sustain the price suggested by KBB.

Strange...I really don't see any posts here about reliability issues. I certainly have had none.

And they do come with a warranty, you know.

+1 Yeah i've been through a few trannys, but warranty took care of that. Otherwise not a single problem. Every car is gonna have kwirks. And just because you pay alot doesn't mean you get reliability. The new Mercedes are garbage for reliability, and you pay nearly $60,000 to feel like you have a great car, but it's just bling that eats rotors and struts every 5-10 thousand miles!! My Audi TT was a great car, but if you didn't change the timing belt at 60,000 miles it would grenade the engine, even though the owners manual says 90,000 miles! I think bang for the buck AND reliabilty, the Z is a great car. Drive it harder then it was designed to be, and you're gonan have problems, but that goes for anything.

the April2007 issue of Automobile magazine's long term testing result of their 2006 330i doesn't look good either. Major engine problem....rocker arm/lifter/camshaft failure due to lubrication failure at 23k miles.
