I sold my 2001 Mercedes CLK55 AMG in anticipation of the Z. I'll lose speed, and horsepower with the Z as compared to the CLK (4.9sec) , but it's a Z and not a MB.

98 Dodge Neon R/T, but its paid off, so I might just keep it for the winter driving. Depends on what the dealer will offer me for it.

I think everybody feels something special to a car that they have truly loved. But like life -- remember, appreciate, and move on -- and as Kurt Vonnegut wrote a long time ago... so it goes.

The only consolation is that she will be replaced by a younger sister... and remembered.

I think you should keep it, if economically possible. I had a modded 92 Talon TSI. I know, not that great a car. But there were a lot of memories with that ride. It wasn't til a couple of years after trading it in, that I missed it. The feeling of regret sort of creeps up on you.

I will be getting rid of a 93 ford escort, so I think I win for having the worst car mentioned so far. Like the Z it is also a hatchback, but since it doesn't have a massive strut brace in back, I can feel the body shiver when I hit small bumps. But I can say it is reliable and gets good gas milage.

Talk about a world of difference. You think I'm gonna be complaining about a cheap interior? You want to talk sluggish off the line? Also it has the factory $3 speakers and the front two started to make a humming noise so I'm only running the backs. You think I'm gonna be complaining about the base stereo in my track?

Just so you don't feel sorry for me I also have a 2000 trooper that is quite nice except for its poor gas milage and poor handeling and braking. You think I'm gonna complain about .88 G? I will keep this for winter/rainny days.

My first new car and the one I drove the longest is a 1988 VW fox. This was before VW made it's comeback, and I could have gotten a first model year integra for just a little more (I don't know why I didn't). But the Fox served me well for 6 years and then served my brother for 5 years.

I thought it would be interesting to compare the 350Z Track to the Fox

Cost $35K vs $8K ---advantage Fox
Transmission 6-speed vs 4-speed manual ---advantage Z
HP 287 vs 88 ----advantage Z
0-60 5.4 sec vs 11.4 sec ---advantage Z
max number of passengers 2 vs 5 ---advantage Fox
gas milage 20 something vs 30 something --- advantage Fox
stealth factor ----advantage Fox
style --- advantage Z

Well it looks too close to call. It's interesting to note that my first car cost less than the difference between the base Z and my track Z with options.

I had a '95 240SX SE I sold in January to help pay for my Z. When I get my Z it will replace my '72 Buick Skylark (my first car) as my daily driver, and the Buick will be taken apart and given a full frame-off restoration. I'm hoping the Z doesn't feel sluggish off the line, I will miss the 530 lbs. ft. at 2500 rpm, but I wont miss the 10 mpg!

Stupid 1998 VW Jetta, with an automatic and a blistering 115HP. Selling for $9500 with 32000 miles. Now, that's an upgrade!

I'll be selling my 91 Acura Legend. I've had it since I was 16 and it has been a great car. I'm gonna miss it, but not too much.
