Since I live in Calif., my Z only reads out "SUNNY"
Hah, that's what I thought, until it dipped to 37F a few nights ago and I - for the first and probably only time - saw the ICY warning as well. Its not supposed to ever get below 50F in West LA
I wish I could turn that function OFF ! Or, I wish it would at least just flash an ice warning and then go back to the mph. My problem is, I'm cruising along on an arterial at about 37 mph, then I speed up, but I look and still see "37". Next thing I know, I'm going 40 or 45, and then I notice that it's not 37 mph but rather 37 degrees ... I think it's a good warning, and I really like the temp option (when I select it), but I don't like the way the ice warning just trumps the speed reading.
A naked man is standing in front of an elephant and the elephant says "It's cute, but isnt it a little small?" I had to have that one explained to me.....
.
it was so cold this morning that the Z's digital screen indicated only 33degree with an ICY warning.
I think mine is broke. 3 days ago mine said 1....ouch. It comes on when the temp is 37 degrees but does not mean is icy but only possible. You still need moisture right?
again, read your frickin owners manual. it explains in there why the stupid icy warning comes on in the first place. and for those too lazy to look, i will paste it for you:
The outside air temperature mode includes a low
temperature warning feature: below 37°F (3°C),
the outside air temperature mode is automatically
selected and the ICY indicator will illuminate
in order to draw the driver’s attention. Press
the mode switch A if you wish to return to the
mode that was selected before the warning
occurred. The ICY indicator will continue blinking
as long as the temperature remains below
39°F (4°C).
The ambient temperature sensor is located in
front of the radiator. The sensor may be affected
by road or engine heat, wind directions and
other driving conditions. The display may differ
from the actual ambient temperature or the
temperature displayed on various signs or billboards.
