Thumbs down

holy crap another thread about lack of common sense!! How many times has this been discussed now? Try doing a search first next time, you would have found all these results that other people with no common sense posted already.

here is a sample of using the search feature:

Well, I guess you can put this reply in 95% of all topics here. I'm proud of you.

yes I probably could since most people aren't smart enough to search first, if you were smart enough to look at the link I posted you would see that annyone that searched for this topic would have found thier answer with no problem and no need for another "Help, I have no common sense" thread!

That would be better than "why does my gauge flash ICY, can someone please help" every week.

the point is this is common sense or easily found in an owners manual.

this has never happened to me before, but yesterday morning, my digital speedo/computer switched automatically to the temperature with the "ICY" warning too! It was 38 degrees. Thought it was cool...

Well, the tread is two years old so someone searched.

Z04, I like your style but are you an angry guy? I am but I can't match your acerbic tone and you are target 98% of the time.

Anyway, my input. The icy warning is useless. If you walk outside and it’s cold, potential icy conditions exist. If it snowing, sleeting or raining in cold weather it is self evident. The gauge does not tell whether there is precipitation on the road to get icy and does not measure the ambient temperature of the road.

I come to my own conclusions on whether or not to be careful based on more information than a word in a gauge.

LOL @ the drama.

People should search, but then again, everything has been posted about already. So a little tolerance should be given in order to keep the site interesting vs a bunch of pissed off replies. Now, certain topics even I cannot stand to see new threads about...for example, the Z in snow, tire feathering, window motors etc.

anyway, thats been building for a while.

In regards to the OP. I like the icy warning Saying its useless is not a fair statement. There have been times where Ive been glad to know its on the verge of freezing. Ive kicked out the rear on black ice before, not fun.

Hahahaha. I've been around here long enough to know how z04 and his like are and it doesn't bother me. Thanks for the understanding guys...because I was just going to post a new thread! Hahaha. Then, I stopped myself and said...hmm....what would z04 say? Probably something like, "search newb" or some other predictable statement. That and...well, I'm not a newb! Hahahaah. I've been out for a while...busy with school.

Glad to see some things never change. Happy Holidays, fellow 350 heads.

BTW, what's gonna happen to this site when the 370 comes out? Could it beat a 350? How about in the twisties?

Hahahahaha! Got'cha!

I read the manual but i couldnt find a way to turn the advice OFF
I pressed the Mode button but nothing happend.

Funny this thread got brought up. Around here, the weather is so random, that the "ICY" warning actually comes in handy from time to time.

This past Sunday I was driving back from a local state park. Temp was 68 degrees when I left, and about 20 miles down the road, it started raining. About 5min after that, the ICY warning showed up on my display. It was already down to 37 degrees. By the time I made it home (another 10miles), it was already down to 30.
So, there are instances where it comes in handy. I had NO idea that the temp was dropping that quickly.

Of course, I don't drive it during the winter.
