Also, I had an 85 300zxt with over 180k miles when some *** t-boned it and my brother's 82 280zx had over 280k miles when the odo stopped working for the last year he had it.
you know what they say... third times a charm

You should be alright. i've had my 06 since 2/15/06 and it's been great. it has only been at the shop for mods and oil change. and it's been at the shop for 3 months now. can't wait to drive it again. I haven';t had any problems, and I drive it pretty hard. i have 10,200 miles and that's because i have the car in the shop and haven't been able to drive it. but you should be fine. good luck and congrats!!!!

I agree, all the "other" problems were trivial. I bought an alpine, cleaned the grease, tracked down the rattles, saw the chiropractor (seriously ) and Nissan did everything to improve the tire problem. However, I have had many many manual vehicles including every generation Z and never had an issue with transmission. FOUR in one year is most definitely lesser fault of mine.

Case in point, the '06 tranny is so beautiful it made me when I took my first shift.

Welcome back. I have had nothing short of perfect with my 06. Not a single issue that drives me nuts (besides the damn wait for the revs to drop )

I also love the changes that they made for 06. The bi-xenons continue to amaze me each time I use them. The highbeams on this car are

whats a good beginning point for mods?

(I never modded the 03 cuz the only available mods at the time gave about 3-5hp for intake/exhaust)

It's like you make Nissan beat you, but you still love Nissan.

Doctor: "What happened to your face, RICHAZN? Where did you get the black eye and broken nose?"
Nissan: "He fell down some stairs."
RICHAZN: "I fell down some stairs."

Performance mods I would go with a Motordyne Spacer. Big HP and TQ gains for the revup motor.

OP - No worries dude. First year on any car you should expect issues. I believe generally across the board 80% of the Z owners are happy with their Z. All cars have some problems over the years and IMO NISSAN has the best initial quality... At least that has been my experience. Now watch my motor will blow .... knocking on wood now.

It's trouble free performance has saved me $thousands over the years.

True dat - My 04.5 has no problems except the fuel line recall for bad hoses NISSAN got from their vendor. Doh. Tire wear evenly, transmission shifts smoothly, handles quite well.

Pathfinder - Love mine too !!! Reason for me buying my Pathfinder/350Z ... Others with 200K plus on their motors and over 200K on my 300zx turbo with basically the same design of motor. You know how hard turbos are on motors so I figured it would do great as a N/A

Since then I tried an 06 6spd accord that bored me to death.

Then I went 300zx tt. OMG what a FUN car. I love the twin turbo sooo much. Unfortunately, that thing needs $1000 repair jobs almost every 2-3 months. Its like car payments Finally the starter and one injector went out last week and $1200 dollars later my girlfriend pulled the plug on the 300zx.

Well, I have been salivating over the '06 for a year now. LOVE the upgrades, but feared the same doomsday scenario as before. My girlfriend talked me into it and...

tada:

(please tell me its gonna be alright )
the 03's did have alot of issues but the 2006 Z's are much better even the 5's thats why i dont buy a new model of any car till its been out for atleast 2 years because all new cars have issues. my uncle has a Mbenz S550 4matic been back at the shop 3 time in 4 month. all new models have issues

Thanks for insulting everyone here! I haven't had a single problem with my 03. If i had 2 lemons I think I would buy something else. Maybe you should consider the source your buying from.
