Ok, a thread resurrection here.

Was wondering about everyone’s favorite song to listen to while driving. This old thread is close.
Since I’m old, I’m sure no one here knows this one.

My favorite Z driving song Harry Nilsson’s Jump Into The Fire

Wow, looking at the old posts (and old posters) in this thread brings back those old pre-order memories!

Yeah......me too!

I played Van Halen's cover of the Kinks' "You Really Got Me" (the song in the 300ZX commercial with GI Joe and Barbie).

Even though the drive home from the dealership was bumper to bumper on Oct. 24, 2002, I felt I was flying!

Pulling into the track on friday night:
"Are you ready" by Marilyn Manson

Pushing it hard on the street:
"Best things in life" by Filter
(you guys might remember that one from the scene in "Driven" when they take those two F-1's through the city)

Late night on a lonely highway:
"Midnight Rider" by Mountain

That's exactly what I played on my way home from the dealership followed by Nightwish's Wishmaster album.

MSO: I got mine on September 24th, 2002. VIN 1596.

The first two songs I played in my Z were "Summer Song" by Joe Satriani followed by "In Cars" by Fear Factory.

"Gasoline" By Audioslave

Awesome Song.

Driving it off the lot, I was jamming and not paying attention and got pulled over. He told me to take it easy and enjoy the car. What a start. Lol!

dido ??
See, e.g., the official Dido site.

Mellow female vocals, etc. You might have heard a sample of her voice from "Thank You" on Eminem's "Stan" track. Her stuff isn't what I'd pick for my first song, but to each his own...

The Pharcyde's "Passing Me By"

If you haven't heard that song, here's a sample of the lyrics: "Oh, how I wish I could hold her hand and give her a hug. She was married to the man. He was a thug, his name was Lee, HE DROVE A Z, He'd pick her up from school promptly at three o'clock."
