I'd rather park next to a driver side door than a passenger door. I figure the driver cares more about his/her car, and the passengers really don't care if they open up their door and ding the car next to them.

If I have to park next to a passenger side door, I always look inside the car. If there's a bunch of stuff on the seat, that means no passengers = good for me.

Don't park next to a car that has a car seat on your side. When people have to strap their kids into seats, they have a tendency to open their doors all the way, and don't pay attention to neighboring cars.

im so sick of people sayign this chit. Who are you to say what people can think of their cars? To some, the Z is their lambo! Plus, even if i had a ford focus i would still go nuts over a potential ding.

Although our Zs may not be Lambos...we still like to take care of things we work hard for correct? I personally take pride in keeping my cars clean and damage free. My last car (Evo, 3 years) didn't have a single door ding, only minor rock chips on the bottom of the front bumper. Why is this? Because I followed similar steps that the OP mentioned.

Unfortunately, most people do not really care about the appearance of their cars. I have this theory about Camry drivers that no one really understands...but if you take a minute you will see what I'm talking about. People who buy Camrys are looking for the most basic mode of transportation (Camry is an anagram for "My Car"). Take a close look at the next Camry you see...it will have either front end or rear end damage...or worse. Stay away from Camrys in parking lots, these people do not care if they crease your doors or fenders.

I usually go for the "middle of nowhere" spot. Although, there are times when that moron in the '85 Ford Tempo finds it necessary to park right next to you.

Parking in back doesn't work out either. i parked at the end of a parking lot last summer.(new body kit) no one anywhere near me. 1 spot.(if you take two, your a wiener!) I came out from the store 30min. later. my jaw dropped. i was at least 50 yrds. from my car when i saw a big hole through my 1mnth old front clip. there was not a car w/ in 20 yrds of me. i was not near an enterance or an exit. There is no reason why someone should have even been w/ in throwing distance of my car. And i come out to find the front clip cracked top to bottom down the middle, and a hole the size of a football. just to say your not safe anywhere.

i avoid any major stores malls etc during rush times. if i have to ive been known to park across the street where theres a small business or somethin in a good spot. My z may not be a lambo but its 32000 dollars out of my pocket and im not letting somebodys piece of **** clunker make my value go down any more. Somtimes ill take up two spots but its out in the middle and i mean middle very back of the parking lot where theres a curb so nobody can hit my car and at night always under a light if i can find one.

I always try to park in an end spot, preferably to park on the passenger side of the second to last car. I figure that the probability of getting hit is lower when parking on the passenger side seeing that there is no guaranty of a passenger.
