Default Burning Odor coming from 2004

I have a burning odor coming from my 2004 Touring. Seems to only come on when Im running the heater. Anyone else get this? Shud I take it in?

Im only curious to take it in now because I have a new exhaust that wants to get put on and I dont want the dealership to say "well its probably that aftermarket exhaust you put on."

Have you done anything recent to it? Changed any fluids or taken it in for service? Ran into any puddles or taken it off any sweet jumps? What's it smell like? Make sure you get it looked at before you have any work done or the person looking under your hood will have more things to think about being the problem.

i had the same issue and when i took mine in to the dealer they told me sometimes mice like to crawl up in the vents during the winter and such and s**t then just die i guess...anyways the dealership took my entire dash apart basically and sure enough there was a mouse was up in there...it cost bout 150 for them to do that cuz i wasnt exactly sure where to even begin looking for the thing...i mean you might not have a mouse like me but it was just a queer little thing that happened to me so maybe it happened to you too

also a solution they gave me to avoid this if this is your problem was take a bag of moth ***** and set them somewhere under the hood like in the battery compartment or around there and that should keep them away

-once again the trunk monkey has malfunctioned and ended up in the front egine bay compartment where it probably got caught in the gears and fouled your environmental systems- just go to the dealer if you still have your warranty and they can see if the trunk monkey is salvageable or if youll need a replacement

-note that if you have the 06 and up you probably have the upgraded little sweat shop asian kid under the hood doing the computations for the cars ecu , check that the monkey did not interfere with the little guys pokemons or expect complications down the road.

LOL...my gramma does some weird ritual whenever anyone buys a car...it includes burning something similar to myrrh, and walking around the car mumbling something.. yes, she's weird
