IS IT OK to throw the car in neutral and coast at say 20mph 50 even 70.
IS IT OK to COAST with the clutch all the way in and the car in gear or neutral.
Which is better for the car and why.
Ive heard people say omfg dont put hte car in neutral and leave it there why in motion unless the clutch is in all the way.
Than ive heard people say dont leave the clutch pushed in for a extended period of time while driving.

In general, coasting is a noobish thing to do. Having the car in gear gives you much greater control over the attitude of the car. When you coast in neutral you have lost 90% of your control. At 20mph it is not that big of a deal, but the faster you go the more dangerous it is. Not only is it dangerous, but it's a waste of gas. It requires gas to keep an engine running in neutral. It takes no gas to engine brake; the momentum of the car keeps the engine turning. Some people like to argue this, but it is easily verifiable in a number of ways.
Holding the clutch in for a long time is also really stupid. This will put unnecessary wear on the throwout bearing. The throwout bearing (which is what makes the pressure plate freewheel while the clutch is depressed) is not designed for extended usage.

Ahmm, see I live on a big hill, 2 big hills actually. Every morning when I would leave to work I would just coast down the hill in neutral :-)
Bad? See I was under the assumption it saved gas.

you take the shifter and slam it from 1-5 directly, don't worry about the gears inbetween, they are not needed. also wait until the RPM goes past the redline and do this at the max. ignore the shift light also, that is not needed at all

Just go in order of the gears!!
For instance if you wanna go faster and your in first gear, give some gas and change it to second!! Don't skip gears, 1st to 5th wont work.....uggggh maybe u should have got a AT.

Put in 1st, release clutch slowly while giving it gas, proceed through gear 2, 3, 4, and when in 5th, at about 100mph, push in clutch and place back in 2nd gear and stomp it.

Downshifting at a higher RPM gives you more of an accelerated feeling then shifting up.
