No disrespecting the OP because every situation is different, but many people here do not use their brains when the weather gets cold. Yesterday it started snowing and parts of North Dallas iced over. This the 3rd time in a 2 month period in which we had bad winter weather. You would think this time around people have learned to slow down. Unfortunately last night and this morning traffic was a huge mess around the metroplex. People were speeding and bumping into each other. Glad you are okay. It could have been a lot worse.

A little touch up paint, some air in the tires, good as new...

Glad you are ok. Wrecks are never a good thing...

i'll sell you my z : )

I'm in texas. greddy twin turbo, coilovers, sparco evo 2 racing seat, nismo 1.5 diff, full cage, xm radio, clutch and flywheel package, blitz sbcid 2 or whatever boost controller, full fuel return system, reflash and custom tune for 420 or so whp by sgp racing in houston. i have added steering angle for drifting, carbon doors but only one installed. inges replica body kit, different wheels all the time. the car weights 3250 with a full tank of gas, cage, most of the interior still there, turbo kit, and a bunch of stuff in the car. very fun car.

the car is a 2005 base model z, with 6k miles on the odometer, although the mileage is closer to 30-40k because of a disconnected abs module for drifting. if your interested, pm me : )

the car has won a ton of drift competitions, included a few thousand dollars in payouts, tons of trophies, gotten in drifting magazine, and is a blast to drive.

Glad you're OK. Unless you have experience driving in those conditions, leave the Z at home. Your pocket book will thank you as well as the other drivers that could have been involved. My only advice in driving these conditions is to do everything very slowly, almost slow-motion, including lane changes, turns, acceleration and braking.

SZ
Your right agree with what your sayin, no offense taken. And someone asked about how many miles on the tires, i dont know because i bought the car pre owned and they were on it already.

Look at the pictures again. The front impact bar behind the bumper isn't even bent. Most likely Bolaz didn't take a front impact- only that would have triggered the front sensors and deployed the airbags. His Redline doesn't appear to have the side impact airbag option either.

Keep in mind that airbags going off in this type of side-to-rear multi impact accident could have resulted in MORE injuries, not less.

I think we're quite safe in our Zs, thank you.

+1. First thing that crossed my mind as well. I don't think I've ever seen another Redline posted here with that much damage.

OP, glad to know you survived. Time to look for an '07 Z!

Its no ones fault i hit ice the semi tried to brake, and he couldnt really go nowhere. So i dont blame the guy i mean he thought he killed me thats enough punishment to take. The spoiler came with the car so i have no idea where its from. Good thing i didnt have the mods done to it yet, since the car was only 2 months old, but i did manage to take the short antenna after i lit up a cigarrette and got out of the car. And i swear after it happenned and im still sitting there in the drivers seat, the first thing that went through my head was, "well i guess i can smoke in it now"

P.S: Sorry about the links not working i was one the phone with the insurance company when i was trying to post it for you guys to see it.

My Z punched a semi in the face, take that *****es!
dude, you sound like a really good sport about this... glad your ok. i was mad when i got rear ended sitting in a turning lane 7+k in damages and i was so pissed. but at least you can make a joke and find the humor in this knowing that you walked away un harmed... best of luck with insurance and finding a new car to replace it... take care man

I was going around 50 maybe 60, but it was mainly wet and im in TX so i dont keep patches of ice in mind when im driving.
Nissan put that "ICE" warning thingy there for a reason mate.

Sorry for the loss though. You don't sound *that* bent out of shape about, so I guess that means you owed less than the car was worth and Insurance has got you covered for Z #2?

Damn, and I thought I wrecked my first Z pretty bad. Its nothing compared to yours. Although I did get 6 feet of air through two trees. So i guess that gives me 3 points.

Im selling my 06 Silverstone with 10k miles. Make an offer.

glad you're ok.

It's good to see that whatever the outcome of an accident with a Z, the driver usually walks away from it.
