aerodynamic package
i was planning around with the "build your Z" on the nissan website and was wondering what the aerodynamic package look like and if the car looks better with it? i noticed if i select this option, i can't do splashguards nor the 18" wheel option? does this mean it comes with the package? or just.. can't have both? anyone wanna clarify? maybe even a picture of a z with aero and one without?

Ya, the aerodynamic package comes with the little spoiler, and some under-body diffusers (which aren't visible). Touring and grand touring both have aero packages and they already come with 18s and splash guards, so thats probably the reason why you can't choose them on the site.

I don't really think they are necessary to guard against splash, anyway. I have 245/35 front and 275/35 rear tires, so they are wider than stock, and I really don't have a big problem with splashing. Well, nothing a quick spray and wipe can't handle in seconds, anyway!

I have the splash guards and aero package and I think it looks 100% better than without. I absolutely love the way both look. If my Z didn't have them when I got it I would have put them on asap.
And to one of the posts above.....I haven't seen an '07 with the spoiler yet either. Most pics I've seen they don't have anything...only one has even had the splash guards.

I just looked through my pics and they're not worth posting. IMO the aeropackage is not worth getting. I have a Track so it's part of the bundle but the front diffuser is basically a curb finder. Mine is all scratched to hell from driveways and what-not. Besides that scratched up piece of plastic, you can't tell anyone has the aero...besides the spoiler I guess. But you can just buy that seperately here in the classifieds.

The under-body diffusers were not part of the aero. package in 2004 when I ordered my 2004.5. They only came installed on the track model, but you can buy them separately and install with a little drilling.
The front diffuser doesn't look like much but, with the under-body diffusers, plays a functional role in decreasing the coefficient of drag from .30 for all coupes to .29 for the track. Roadster is .34 for the curious.
Curious now that the track model has been discontinued for 2007, if these are standard on all Z's?
update:
Did the "you build it" on nissanusa.com and the grand touring comes with the under-body diffusers while the enthusiast, even when you add the aero package, still does not.
