Default Weighed my car today; I'm shocked!

Well, I put aside my fears and set the car on a government Department of Transportation analytical balance. These are used to weigh in trucks. I posted some pics to make it more credible. My curb weight was 3100 lbs with a half tank of gas. Reduction mods are in my sig.

Couple of things to point out here:

1- The second page has two weights: 1700lbs corresponds to the front axle and 1400lbs to the rear. A little math gives a weight distribution of 55/45. Not exactly what I was hoping and could be a serious cause of my traction issues.

2- The 3100lbs was with a half tank. The 3120 display pics was a wind gust hitting the platform when I took the picture. If gas weighs in at approx. 6 lbs/gal, then I have about 60 lbs of fuel considering its a 20 gallon tank. If I do the math for an almost empty tank for the track, which is what I mostly do, the weight distribution suffers even greater to 57/43.

3- To test the balance I placed myself on top of it to be used as a standard because obviously I know my weight, which is about 215lbs. That is the pic you see with the display at 220. The balance yielded 220lbs. The guy told me when it is windy out, like it was today, there is about a 5% error to the measurement.

Final thoughts: well, i guess i can say i'm a happy camper. pretty much what i expected with my mods. if i empty the tank, my car may hit the 3040 lbs weight. a little more to go and i break the 3000 lbs barrier. now, all i have to do, is drive! (break those darn 14's at the .25)

Wow. 3100 lbs. Add a driver (I am 170) and 100 lbs of fuel and you are at 3370 lbs. I thought they were like 3400 without driver/fuel? Apparently not.

Something is wrong with the numbers. Why are they rounded to the nearest 100?

Its 3100 with a half tank. With you driving its 3040 lbs curb weight+120 lbs fuel (6 lbs/gal * 20 gal tank) + 170 lbs of you = 3330 lbs total.

Even if they do round to the nearest 100, thats still considerably lower than I thought it would be.

Yeah, I saw that post. Our differences are, aside from experience :

Me: Battery, brakes, rims

You: Exhaust, cats and headers plus the more electronics associated with the enthusiasts model.

I guess the breathing mods have a few good pounds to be lost there. If its not that, I'm clueless.

Get a single exhaust and light racing seats and u'll probably go quite a bit lower. When I took off the stock exhaust that thing nearly crushed my chest!
