doing the shift boot mod was never about fooling people for me. It was done out of personal enjoyment. And now apparently, for the enjoyment of others as well

 

Speak for yourself I did it to fool people. I was sick of getting harassed for buying an automatic sports car. I got the AT because my wife cannot drive stick and in case of an emergency she could drive my car. And it was a deal I couldn't pass up, I had an 06 Accord 4 cyl that I wanted to drive off a cliff.

 

Your wife can drive a manual... you just gotta tell her to get off the phone, put the makeup back in her purse, and stop chewing gum.

and i really don't see the point of the mod. its not a manual so why try to make it look like one? but if you like it then that's great

 

Thats funny, i used to work for a Porsche dealer and i had to move a couple of 911s and 986s around, well i get into a 986 that happens to be an auto and im in total auto pilot mode and think its a 6 speed. Well, i slam my foot down on the floor thinking there was going to be a clutch there. God did i get a rude awakening.

looks awesome, Im doing it this saturday. Don't be haters it looks better than any AT shifter I've ever seen on any car!! it looks shorter than a stock 6spd if you remove the blue extender...

 

Probably the stiffest clutch pedal he ever had... and so far over to the left, too.

BTW, I love how your boot/**** mod looks. If I had AT I'd do it in a second.

 

what shift ****/boot are you guys using on your autos?

 

Im going to use the MOMO AT **** pictured above because I know for sure it will work, and a standard black leather boot from the auto part store. Pretty sure most AT ***** will work...
