Z is the daily in the spring and summer. My STi is the daily during the rest of the year (ie. winter). I'll probably use the STi more as I drop my built motor and turbo setup in the Z.
My daily driver is a '5 CTS-V and the '8 Z is actually my wife's daily driver. These two are not exactly beaters (or in my term, junkers) but they're the ones driven in the winter snow and ickiness.
My '03 has been a DD since day one - 145,000 miles later still looks pretty good other than a tear in the drivers seat bolster, and still runs strong with original tranny AND clutch. Recently picked up a '90 TT nicely modded under the hood - that one is pretty much weekend only and will take a nap this winter.
Don't really have a daily as I don't drive to work. Take a cab to the airport.
I do have a Triumph Speed Triple to run around on, and my wife's got a 2012 Tahoe LTZ. I'm planning on picking up a new STI first quarter next year as a "daily".
I'm debating whether or not to keep my Caliber when I get the 350z, but i work at a Chevy dealership where I can get a Cruze manual for like mid one hundreds monthly payment or lower on leasing since I'm going to university after community college.
