Hello,

I recently purchased a 3M car clear bra to be installed on my 2007 Nissan 350Z. The authorized dealer said he was going to customize the hood section for me because the template was not yet availible. I agreed to this. During the installation, I noticed the clear film section he cut for me did not have the 3M logo on the back of the paper like the rest of the sheets had. I asked him if he was using 3M and he assured me he was. Now, looking at the hood section versus the fender area, I notice that the film is not consistant. The hood has imperfections, which I brought up during install and he told me that it was there so the paint can breath. There seems to be more "orange peel" and there are spots that apear irregularly rough. The hood section just seems off overall and thinner than the rest. The rest of the panels (clearly cut from a machine because the edges are perfectly round) seem great!

Do all of your clear bra products have the 3M logo in the back? What can I do to ensure its the real thing?

What you should have done is request a certificate of authenticity a.k.a warranty paper work from the installer. Only 3M-approved installers can issue those and for them, buying genuine 3M product is cheaper than the other brands.

Now, after the install, there isn't much you can do.

 

That sucks man, I am trying ot find a Clear Bra installer/supplier here in oregon and I cant seem to find any/

 

Well if 3M cares anything about their "Certified 3M blah blah blah", maybe they will do somrhing about it. But like you said, they probably wont. I should have said something during the install but the guy was really cool and Im not good with confrontation. Oh well, lesson learned.

more than likly your hood is not 3m it is supposed to have the 3m logo on the paper. I know because I am a supplier.
