In the of relm regular production Japanese supercars in the mid 90s, you have Honda: NSX, Nissan: GT-R, DiamondStar: 3000GT, and Toyota: Supra. They are no Lambos, Porsche or Ferrari, but I was speaking under a particular context.

Realistically it will be a long time until or even if 350's are very collectable in a general sense.

I also doubt that the 350Z will be a collectible. If it is, my bet is on the yellow 35th Anniversary to take it.

Don't get me wrong, I love the VQ but when it comes to moding out of the box the 2JZ is a monster.
i'm in 100% agreement
4 years old and 28k miles on mine. 21k invested in mods and almost paid off. I hope it ends up being a collectible. If not, it still makes for a fine garage queen.
Well a car is a terrible investment anyways. Don't buy it cause you think it will be worth something one day. Buy it to drive and get enjoyment out of it. It's a nice car regardless, and I think it will always be held as so, but it's definitely not exclusive enough to really be considered a "collectable"
I think it will be collcetible in the way old mustangs, camaros, ora lfa spiders/triumphs are. There not worth a whole lot but they definitely have an enthusiast base and they. Yes the cars I listed above have lower numbers but in comparison to todays largery production numbers over all its about the same. The Z's will be low value entry level classics.
They'll definitely be collectible.....because Nissan Z-cars will always have a faithfull following of enthusiasts...similiar to Vettes, Mustangs or Porsches. Nobody ever thought the 280ZX would be a collectible but now they have quite a following and I see good original models going for $15,000- $20,000 on Ebay.

uhhhhh?...go tell that to the folks at zcar.com
the older Z's, meaning the 240's and beyond are really starting to come into their own as far as collectability. The prices theyre commanding are steadily increasing.
the 350Z a collectible? I wouldnt hold your breath. There's alot of them out there but eventually the Z used market may become a good base for modders. I doubt theyll reach a point where theyre appreciating, possibly in 50 years when gasoline cars are banned?
the z32 in particular the TT and the supra/Rx-7 didnt reach anywhere near the current Z prodcution levels and in todays $$$ they were very expensive back in the day...low production/expensive/japanese = collectible.

I know that I'm having a hell of a time finding a used Track (preferably an '05) with DVD NAV for a friend. I've talked to several dealers who say they've never even seen one.
In a decade or two, having a Track Z with (its factory Brembo's and) factory DVD will be somewhat more of a "cherry" to find.
