i know theres a lot of history with the previous Z's, but what about the current 350z?
seems like they're just being massively made
i was just asking because i checked local ads for how much Z's go for, many of them are still for $30k in Canada, but recently a buncha rebuilt ones from the states came in, selling for like $20k(not much for people here i think)
im thinking if people can pick this crap up for 10G's down the road, might aswell sell it now and buy something like an s2000 or something, seems like there are barely any for sale and might have more heritage down the road?

I don't think so. At least not as much as the previous models. Nissan devalued the exclusiveness of the Z by lowering the price down to an obtainable ~$27k. Also, the Z compared to previous supercars such as the Supra is not as coveted because of the powertrain. Don't get me wrong, I love the VQ but when it comes to moding out of the box the 2JZ is a monster.

so weird how everyone compares 350z and supra in the same class, but the supra i think is seen as far more superior imo for variant reasons

I guess time will tell, if they will become collectable, just depends how much Nissan floods the market with them.
Interesting my car was displayed at car big shows the last 2 weekends running, beside my Zed club mates mint 240's, 260's, 300's, and the 350 still arouses a lot of curiousity, even given the Jag, Lotus, Merc & Ferrari stands beside ours. Poor Z was a bit like connect the fingerprints afterwards. But the 240 etc are a modern classic and respected accordingly.

I think given enough time, any well designed car with timeless lines like the 350 can become collectible.

Although you have a point, the supra is a very good example of why it is coveted because of the inflated price. The car is considered a great platform in the tuning world. Many people like myself were drooling over it during it’s production run but couldn't afford it ( I was in college and my mommy and daddy didn’t buy me one like some other rich kids). So now I am financially independent and can afford a $46k+, the car is over 10 years old and people are jacking up the prices even more for a Supra in decent condition. It's all about supply and demand. Zs are great cars but there's so many of them. Now every Joe and Bobby teenager can afford an early model preowned Z. I don't remember the exact #, but wasn't it something like there were more Zs sold in the first year than all the 90-96 Z32s combined?
I agree, it will be at 20-25 years before 350z's are collectibles, due in part to production #'s. Even 240z's were'nt considered collectible until just the last 10-15 years and even so called collectible cars must be in better than factory new condition to command those high prices. As far as Supras, they were and are still great cars, but in reality the main and only thing they have going for them are their motors, handling OK for the day but compared to most any sports car today, well,,,,, and to extract those ultra high HP #'s you'd better own a bank and to get them to handle that power, rob that bank. I helped a friend with his and it nearly cost him his family, financially.

The 350z Roadster could become a collectible if the next generation Z doesn't come in Roadster trim.... As for the current Z, there a dime a dozen, at least the coupes are... be long time before there considered collectible.
