What? Are we talking about a car with all 4 wheels and it's motor still installed? I don't get into the bench racing crap much, but an E46 M is gonna walk a Z anyday with a driver who is racing...Not even close. The e36 M was also a very fast little car even in sedan form. Hell, the e30 M was not too shabby either! Regardless, a stock Z vs. a stock e46 M is gonna lose in a street race, strip race, etc.

That said, if I owned a Z, I would not say it would keep up with a E46 M3. The closer race is the Z vs the E36 M3. Both stock with the same driver it is a closer race than the E46. That does not mean your car is not fast, it just means the E46 is faster. It also cost almost twice as much.

I've raced an E36 M3 when i was stock, and I beat it, baaaad. So no, he's not faster.

Hit CTRL+P and give him a copy of this message so he can go cry in the corner now.

I have always said the edge would be to the Z, the rest is the driver. Driver obviously makes the biggest difference. Look up magazine tests where they use the same skilled drivers, it is very close. Both do 0-60 in mid 5's, the E46 is under 5 in many mags.

Notice he is talking 0-60. Thats lame. 1/4 or nothing. All you have to do is look at the MPH to get a really good idea of which car is faster. Z is faster but not by much. Those Germans know how to make the best of the HP they have.

for the guy that made the comment about the 06 auto revup pullin on him at 115 cause the revup has more topend. Well for one the 06 if its auto it doesnt have the revup it has the 287hp 2003-2005 motor not the 300hp revup and i raced a 06 manual vs my 03 manual on 4 runs and he never pulled on me i beat him by a half a car to a car everytime

2006 AUTO are NON REVUP
2006 Manual ARe REVUP
IM 100% sure on this

Get yourself the DragSim from http://www.proracingsim.com/ , get data for both cars, set the same conditions and run the simulation and you're done My money would be on the Z when it comes to the USDM E36 M3, but when it comes to the Euro-spec M3 it might be not so easy to smoke it.

Those proracingsim tools are really precise if you have all the data you need

So for peace of mind i was wondering what yall thought, would a 240 BHP with 236 torque with a curb weight of 3175 beat a stock 2006 350Z?

I have given the edge to the Z the whole time. Find my post that does not give the edge to the Z over the E36. The E46 is a whole different story.

The E36 M3 ranges from 14-14.3 in the quarter. I have not seen a Magazine get a stock Z in the 13's.

Why can't some of you just admit it is a drivers race stock vs stock. For every one of you who say they have beaten a E36 M3, you can go over to bimmer forums and many say they have beaten the Z.

Again, I love the Z and I own a E36 M3. A Z would roast mine, it is a Vert with the Auto, great daily driver.
