Is 200mph possible?

No parts truck not even a spare. No room for a spare, Im taking tools, things like extra oil/coolant and clothes for myself and my co driver for 1 week
I will have my camera mount inside for the rally and Im sure outside footage, we'll see what happens.

I wanted to delete my post, but there's no delete option.
So here's a serious answer...
You're going to need a good bit of downforce, and in this case that means a salad bar (so that it will be high enough to get out of the cavitation behind the car at those speeds...), plus highly rated tires, and all the goodies to make the neccesary power...
A full underbody treatment wouldnt hurt though.

I remember reading in a magazine that Top Secret (Nagata) is going to try to get 200 in the Tokyo Tunnel with a Z(using the VQ)...white one i think...he said N/A also...but they will probably end up with twins on it. I'll dig it up and see if i can find it on the interweb somewhere.
At those speeds, you don't want to have those huge wings on the back of your car, because all it'll serve to do is create additional drag that increases exponentially as the speed increase per the forumua posted earlier. There's been multiple videos of cars that had their rear wing and front diffuser snap off or collapse under the forces while attempting high-speed runs.
I'd definitely take off the POS Top Secret front diffuser if you're attempting to go 200+. That shoddy piece isn't even symetrical. I'd know because I actually owned one. There's no knowing what it could do to the aerodynamics at the speeds you're talking about, plus the construction of that thing is questionable at best, so there's a very likely chance that the piece will rip off at those speeds--if that happens, it could lock up your front wheels and make you crash.

well, good thing is the Zs body is well suited for that kind of speed. One of the benefits of it being so aero tested. The trick is getting to those speeds. I wonder if a wing would be needed. The Z with stock aero track parts are more of a zero lift car then anything. But who knows. Downforce or Zero lift, i still love the arguements. lol
Looking into tire sizes and specific models right now. I know Michelin Pilot (Cup?) Sports are good for 200mph as Car & Driver did a 200mph street car challenge and made all cars run these. I have a another set of wheels coming in Monday 18 X 9.5/10.5" with at least 305's in the rear, 275's in the front
I already said Im not running the Top Secret diffuser its gonna be stock body, no wings here. Ive heard of guys doing 170-180mph in TT Z's easy with no issues, of course another 10-30mph is a HUGE difference.

much proper berto, i love top speed runs. I wish we had a top speed course ya know. I think the Z for where it is has as great top speed. I hit 160 at the deleware water gap in my 04 Z and it took a while but man it was amazing. Got a 350 ticket plus assessment fees etc and 6 points for it. But hey im in florida new liscence, new Z lol. No jail time , moral, hope you have a place to hit those speeds, the trooper that radioed me in even commeted sayin ( your car sounded great as it flew by ) yea the law was kind to me that day, and the fact that several of my best friends are detectives and cops . But good luck with it please vid. I wish someone could get a drive by of a Z at its top speed just to get a idea , becasue we really dont know how fast were going on video until we get a still camera being blown by by the car lol. Much props.

200mph is certainly attainable in a modified Z. Yes a stock Z was not designed for that speed, hence the extensive modifications. I've hit the speed limiter many times and the car is very stable at high speeds. The car was obviously wind tunnel tested.
Anyone attempting a 200mph run should DEFINITELY put a lot of consideration into wheels/tires, ESPECIALLY without a cage. That's borderline insane, but hell I would do it. Just keep in mind you won't be walking away from a 200mph blowout without a good cage.
