Cool Looking for a 350Z that is NOT slow.....

Greatings.

I am the owner of www.dfwmkiv.com , the Dallas Supra club. I am working on some videos for our site, and I am looking for a 350Z that is not slow in the DFW area that is willing to come out and run some Supras.

I know it is a big order to fill, and Yes.. I know this is a Z board, but the reality is... your cars are slow.. .come prove me wrong

Realize the VQ35DE flows about 20 more CFM than the 2JZ-GTE with ported heads.

Also the VQ35DE has a .5L advantage over the 2JZ-GTE.

The only reason why you have more high powered Supras is because of your cast-iron block, which also results in a heavier car. Because cast aluminum is weaker, you have to put more money into the engine build.

However, both at their peaks, the 350Z will outperform the Supra in all departments, including looks.

If both car's peak power is the same, then yes, the 350Z should win.

*turns on stupid comment filter*

Well you will need alot more than just 700rwhp to beat anybody if that is what you are asking..... but it would be a great start, is that car in the DFW area? got contact info for the owner?

I am not going to get into a debate about the VQ vs. 2JZ.. 900+ on the stock long block is all I have to say about that. Internet talk is cheap, stupid and worthless, just like bench racing, .5L advantage, alum vs. Iron blah blah blah, put up or shut up.

So lets just keep it simple...

Is there any Fast Z's in the DFW area that would like to come out and play?

900whp+ on the stock block . . . . yes, it's because you have a cast iron block. The RB26 can also get a ****load of power because it's a cast-iron block. If the VQ35DE was cast iron, I assure you that it'll be equally easy to get a crapload of power from.

I don't doubt your cars are fast. But 700+whp Z's are far and few in between. They are out there, but I only know of a few that goes to these forums, and non in the Dallas area.

I think 900+ is pushing it . . . . . but yes the 2JZ-GTE was built specifically for FI. That's why unless you have $$$$$$$$ to spend, your Z will typically be slower than a Supra with less money spent on it.

If both parties have limitless amounts of $$$, yes, the Z will end up being the winner.

BTW Gadfly - GTM just hit 800whp the other day; they will soon reach 1000whp I'm sure if not more. You should check out the FI section of the forums.
