Default 2007 Performance Parts

Need some professional advice on 2007 Z performance parts.

I got off the phone with a pretty reputable performance shop today and talked with him about whether or not 2006 Z performance parts would fit the 2007 Z. This is basically what I told him I am looking to start off with:

Plenum Spacer
Pulley Set
Clutch & Flywheel
AAM Spec 3" Max Flo True Dual Exhaust
Cold Air Intake

He said all will fit on the 2007, but he would have to check on the cold air intake since the Z has now gone to dual air intake. Again this shop is pretty reputable and they specialize in the 350Z and G35, but I would hate to buy these parts, get there and then find out the parts won't work.

So if there is anyone, especially if you work in a performance shop and on a Z, that can offer anymore information or advice on this.........please let me know.

Thanks
R.T.

Here's the consensus from what I've read... Not a lot of solid answers yet but I'm sure there will be soon.

what makes this place a "pretty reputable performace shop" ? are they known all across the US and know stuff that our own vendors know nothing about? I would trust our vendors to come up with something rather than listen to some local "performace shop"

Then have the reputable performance shop buy and install the mods.

The reputable shop I am talking about is Altered Atmosphere. In fact, they are listed as a sponsor on this website. They mainly work on the 350Z and the G35.

why a 3" dual exhaust????

check out this link: http://www.alteredatmosphere.com/soundclips/

Ever since I saw this clip, I have been in love with that exhaust. To me it is the best sounding exhaust I have come across.

I know some people think: "well, if they are reputable and they mainly work on the 350Z and G35.....seems like they would know what they are talking about". True, but I just want to get other professional advice b/c I am looking to invest a lot of money into this car.

If they say it will work, I say go for it.. but I'm perplexed about the intake though... unless they're thinking of using two systems.

Ill tell u right now that AAM exhaust will sound like **** on ur car.
To tell you the truth, i wouldn't do any of those N/A mods because i'm almost sure all of them will make you loose power. Get an exhaust as most, with test pipes. That can garantee u a pwoer gain. No need for an intake, just get K&N drop in filters.

The more I think about it, I really wonder about the spacer and pulleys working. According to the vq35hr.com site, there's a "newly designed engine block" and I'm assuming that the plenum design has changed too. I even seem to remember reading from Tony (motordyne) that he didn't think the spacer would work, but I could be off and the only way to tell is to disassemble the intake.

BTW I'd be surprised to see you lose power with these mods, but the question is will it be worth it and if they are compatible.

Is that exhaust true duel??
What I mean is, Are there two exhaust ports coming from two headers on the motor? I don't have my 07 yet so I figured I would ask.

If this is a dumb question or a question that has been beaten to death. My apologizes

Cheers

Hopefully I'll be able to post the results soon. This one is an exhaust mod.

Cool! Any plenum mods? Spacer? I remember reading that the new plenum is plastic instead of cast aluminum.

Kinda..

From the Nissan web site-

"Exhaust System
Just as fast as the Z® gulps air, it gets rid of it with equal efficiency through a large-diameter, high-flow exhaust system finished with a high-capacity dual-outlet muffler. It's a unique exhaust system that offers the obvious advantages of dual exhaust, while greatly reducing weight and improving undercarriage aerodynamics. All tuned for a wonderful exhaust note that seems to say goodbye in the ears of the competition. "

So it does have two headers or it doesn't . Still confused

I understand the x pipe, but that's mid exhaust, What i am asking is (from the motor) are there two headers assuming 3 each since it's a V6.
