if you was smart, you would know that asking such a silly question ON A BOARD DEDICATED TO THE 350Z just what answer did you expect to get? go ask the same question on a S2000 board and guess what car they will pick? people really need to think before making worthless threads to try and justify their lack of doing thier own research on a car before purchasing it. here is a hint, go out and test drive both, then pick the one you like yourself there, problem and dilema solved.

we looked at both cars (my gf and i)before we decided on the 350vert.

S2000 - great car, but felt like a modified civic, its a little cramped
350Z - felt more solid, and i like a looks much better.

If you want a Vert look at the S2000 or Miata. Miata actually has better low-end and is more fun on most daily driven roads. If you do not want a vert, get the Z.

We actually need more information, is it going to be a dd? If so, where do you live and what kind of commute do you have? Do you plan to track or auto-x?

Of course the roadster felt more solid its huge.

Fact is an S is a dedicated sports car. Its sole purpose to is to be able to go fast out handle anything besides and elise under 60k, be reliable and thats it.

Unlike the Z which while great car since I have one but its is definately not near as pure or raw as the S.

Are you serious about the miata comment. Sure they are nice but not even in the same class as an S.

People that own S2000's want the rawest experience you can get w/o spending 50+ on it.

It offers nothing but the basics. The Z offers all sorts of ammenaties that traditional sedans do.

I am serious about the miata, it is one of the most under-rated cars. It has that Girly stigma that kills it, but it is one of the most fun cars I have ever owned. Around town driving rarely gets the S2000 into V-tec unless you like breaking the law. That said, the Miata is quicker to throw around. If he wants a raw experience why is he looking at the Z? In my opinion, the Miata falls between the 2 as far as Rawness goes. Not in the same class? Miata with 5k worth of mods is same price as S and will beat it on road or track. You are greatly under-estimating the ability of the Miata.

The S2K is a nice little car but - whoa - is it dated. I can't believe they haven't updated it yet.

I never said its not a great car. It is but its not in the same class as an S.

Tons of cars with 5k into them will beat a Z or an S but stock for stock it isn't the same.

I get into Vtec all the way thru 3rd up to 45 all the time so yea you can enjoy this car driving normally. Out of those 3 the S is the rawest. If I buy a civic I could drop 5-8k into it and beat a Z whats your point.

If I cared about it being girly I wouldn't drive an S.

I dunno if anyone asked this already, but would this be your only car? Do you live in a cold-weather climate?

3200 lbs < 3600 lbs. Is the 350 too heavy? Yes and no. It's an extremely stiff and stable platform that is very forgiving and predictable. Would I like to see it under 3000 lbs? Sure, but with the carbon parts available, lighter wheels etc, it's do-able. The 335 is not meant to be a sports car, it's meant to be a luxury car. Big difference to me, add the fact that it looks like crap... and it's just not a car I want. i already have my straight line monster which is a 68 Charger, why would I care about an uber expensive Toyota look alike?

I agree, because they make them with automatic transmissions.

if u going to get a s2k might as well get a rx8 more room and drives the same high rpm power no torque i know i use to have 1. i went with the z because its easy to get a lot out of the car with that good power rx8 and my buds s2k u have to drive all out to get anything from it.

my friend just picked up a silver 04 with like 12k miles a few months ago.
the car is amazing. i would not, however, trade him for my z.
out of the box the s2000 totally anhiliates the z as far as handling and feel go.
even with the 2.2 motor the car feels like it has zero tq
it is pretty annoying to have to wind it up past 6k to have any kind of real power.
the car also feels insanely small. (i'm 6' tall and in good shape)
and then there is the fact that it's a vert. i LOVE verts when it's warm and i HATE them when it's cold or raining.
