Default Going from M3 to 350Z.

Hey guys. I'm picking up the Z tomorrow, trading in the 03' M3. It's an 06' Silverstone Enthusiast. Will post pics when I can. I love my M, and it is much more refined than the Z, but financially, this is an upgrade for me. The maintenance on the M is an arm and a leg every trip, I just want something new that is covered by warranties.

I actually signed up for the forum some months ago when I was bouncing back and forth between an M and a Z, I guess I should have went with the Z.

One thing I noticed though, was the clutch in the Z was like a limp noodle compared to my M, lol. And I saw my Z side by side with an 07' model, and the ugly hump on the bumper actually started to grow on me on the 07'.

change out the clutch if you're not happy.... add any forced induction to it and it'll be a M3 killer.

M3 to a 350Z is not too bad. It's apples and oranges IMO. It's just like if I were to step down a bit from my Z I would buy the new Civic Si. No shame in that. Plus most females don't know the difference

The engine is the biggest change for 07. Do and search for 07 350Zs and you'll see all the posts already regarding this topic.

No what I was trying to say was not too many girls realize the price difference between a new Z and preowned M3.

i hear you....lol.
Friend of mine drives nothing but BMWs...X5...m3...m3roadsters...Audis and Porsches. His last repair bill for scheduled maintenance on his Porsche was 7 grand and his monthly repair bill for his 5 series bimmer was rediculously high. i don't even want to know.
On the other hand, money i spent on my 4 year old Z was all on mods.

i did the same thing, and im glad, the M was classy but man how i enjoy opening the Z up and listening to that exhaust and just driving the car, the M was just nice to be in.. the Z is much more of an experience

not just that but there was a huge recall on M motors untinl 04 and they were blowing gaskets and pistons left and right, if you didnt get the engine recalled it's bound to blow anytime, maintenance such as $400 oil changes and 5k mile services cost like 400 bucks, it's reciculous, the cars not worth it, trust me.
