03 with 39k miles on it

A/C compressor went bad
Tranny starting to grind 3rd
Axles click
Tires feather even after alignment and new, different tires
both window motors replaced at 35k miles, out of pocket

I have an awesome first time impression of owning a nissan...

03 --58,000 Never been to the dealer for repair or warranty. Changed the plugs once and the oil sending unit.

I was being kinda sarcastic but ---I replaced the plugs when I put in the Votech at 40,000 or so and they were fine but I stepped down to a colder plug, After I took the SC out, I left them in and need to step up again probably------I believe though that the Manual calls for plug change at 100,000 plus and from the changes I have done on other Zs, I believe that may be true.

BTW ---wish I had saved the plugs !!! I would have reinstalled them

03 (Oct 02 preorder actually) with 26,500 miles as my Daily Driver. Window streaks (Still there), Fuel filler hose (Recall), fuel door latch, deck lid latch adjustment, 19 AXIS rims, and as of this past Monday the clutch has to be replaced...Nissan is putting the screws to me on the Clutch (I even got the 60K extended warranty) and they WON'T cover it. SO, I went to CANDADDY350Z from Revolution-Motorsports and ordered the ACT Streetlite clutch and the ACT Pro-lite flywheel. Will be having them installed next week. (YOU CANNOT beat this guy's prices BTW...WOW he saved me like $200-$300 I believe.) I'll post my findings once the clutch is in and I'm running.
EDIT: Changed my plugs too.

73,000 miles so far and no transmission problems. I'm due to change my tranny and diff fluid, but other than that they have been operating problem free.

My 03 has 72,000+, all original, no problems. It was a one-owner DD as far as I can tell (and Carfax). I never have any problems getting in gear (except if I screw up), and although the clutch is a bit touchy, it still has a good bit of life in it.

Keep in mind I bought this car with about $5000 of "OH ****" money set aside, so I have a plan if anything breaks (as well as a truck). Still, I don't plan on anything breaking anytime soon, as it all feels rock solid.

I've heard people saying that the tire feathering has been fixed, but I can't find a link.

EDIT: I just bought this car ten days ago and already put 2k miles on it, still sweet. My theory with Zs is if you can find a one-owner with over 50k miles you are less likely to have serious mechanical problems. More a hypothesis really. I'll keep the forum posted.

03 here with 92507 as of today. Just had my passengers side power window motor go out. Other than that, no problems to report besides the initial tire wear issue.

Did you resolve the tire problem? How long does it take you to go through tires now?

I just traded my 03 with 63k because I was having numerous problems with it like tire feathering, rear end clicking, squeaky windows with grease, water pump needed, pulleys replaced because of noises and most important I had the AT tranny replaced at 58k under warranty and it still felt like crap. On a lighter note I am loving my 06 PPW 6 Speed I just picked up on Saturday. My 03 was #129 off the line so that might have had something to do with it.

03 with 46k. No major problems of any sort. I did have both window motors replaced around 30k miles. Seems to be almost standard that most of those motors will only last around that long. I still love driving the car each and every time I get in it.

60,000 miles = a new tranny on mine (6spd) 2003 Touring. The dealer replaced it and the clutch a week before I bought the car.

Get a powertrain warranty

Anyone have the price for the tranny fix?

I just got a CD008 put in my 03. First tranny crapped out at ~28k.

Even though I was still under the 6/60, I was charged $650.

They told me that since they had minimal records of my car being serviced (I do it all myself) that they needed to bring the car back up to "warranty standards" for me to qualify for getting a new trans. That meant radiator flush (I just did this spring w H2O wetter), new wiper blades, fuel injector and rail cleaning, and some other bs. But I did get a new clutch also. So I guess in the end $650 was not so bad. Note to DIY'ers.....KEEP ALL YOUR RECEIPTS for MAINTAINANCE...

That is a huge load of BS. One thing has nothing to do with the other.
