Safelite should be able to fix it no problem. Check with your ins to see if they will wave the ded.

I haven't a clue what a skittle is. A cross between a ski and a Kettle? If you drive 90 with a new car on potted roads you will probably crack the windshield again soon so I would just duct tape it and save the money for your next accident.

Find out the name of the contractor doing the road work, contact your state highway administration about a "damage claim" caused by road construction. Leave out the 90mph part! All road construction/contractors in MD are responsible for claims by motorists of damage caused by material, debris, or road conditions caused by construction. Should be the same everywhere but I never bent a rim or craked my winshield in MASS so I'm not 100% how it works up there but it's better to do some digging than paying out of pocket or going to insurance if you have a deductable.

Just a suggestion. If they are going to waive ur deductible to have the windshield repaired or replaced, I rather have it replaced. When they repair it you'll still see it but it just helps it not spread even more. I just had my windshield replaced as well a week ago. I had safelite do it. It's OEM like windshield except for the NISSAN logo. Goodluck!

You have a 'crack windshield'? There are some people in Detroit that would like to smoke it - they can help you.. Just drive around for about 10mins...they'll find you.

The chip can be fixed as long as it is not directly in the the drivers view. Most places ask $50-$75 to fix a chip. But fixing it will not garauntee it not to crack even further. In the process of fixing it it can crack even more too. Insurance companies usually have a $500 deductible on windows, so that probably wont be worth it. Call up a company like safelite or any other local company and see what they can do for you.
