Rev limiter?
Do the 03 models have a rev limiter so it provents the engine from blowing?

all cars these days come with a rev limiter from the factory

Depends if the cause is from a mis-shift or over revving in a gear. If you downshift incorrectly, it's not going to help much.

Experiment a little, and push the RPM past redline. The motor will not self-destruct. See what happens.

It hits the limiter as soon as the needle goes into the red.
