Default 07 Roadster - Magnetic Black or Carbon Silver - HELP!!!

OK first off I went through ALL 755 posts on this forum before posting.

I saw a black roadster at our local auto show last weekend and instantly fell in love. I haven't been into cars for a year or two now as nothing has grabbed by attention. I ordered a Z06 last Summer, but cancelled the order when I saw half a dozen others in my city. I had been into the Nissan dealership just before Christmas and they were going to order me a GT-R as soon as it was available, even though I found myself thinking I really prefer the look of the Z immensely over the GT-R. Then I found that GT-R production has been delayed and I realized I don't really like it to be honest.

So anyways back to my dilemma. I have settled on purchasing an '07 roadster, and am actually excited about it. Its good to have the juices flowing again. Learning that the motor has been significantly improved for '07 is a great bonus. But I am not sure about the color. The dealership has the magnetic black roadster and an airstream coupe. I love the black...absolutely love it. The problem is I owned a 2000 Maxima and the thing drove me crazy. It's quite dusty where I live and I would get up on Saturday and spend a few hours washing the car in the morning only to have it all dusty again by the afternoon. Also, I found Nissan's paint quality to be somewhat lacking. I vowed after selling that car to never again buy a black car for a daily driver. This new car will be another toy for sure, but I'd like to drive it as much as possible. I have several cars that sit around collecting dust...I don't want the Z to be another of them.

So I think I have narrowed it down to magnetic black or carbon silver. The problem is that I live in quite an isolated area and the closest Nissan dealer outside my city is five hours away. I found some pictures of the carbon silver, but its hard to tell for sure from a picture. If anyone has any additional pictures of carbon silver cars, especially roadsters, posting them would be greatly appreciated. I understand it is a new color for this year correct?

Finally, much as it pains me to do this after reading several other posts of members making "what should I do" posts and thinking "It's your car, make up your owned $#%^ed mind", I'm going to ask for opinions from you guys about which car you would pick. Please keep in mind that the car will be driven in the summer only, I would like to drive it as much as possible although I have several other vehicles to drive if I think its too messy out, I can't stand a dirty car, and I currently have three other toys which are black but are low maintenance since they don't get driven much.

I guess that covers it. Sorry for being so long-winded. Back to mulling over pictures.

Carbon Silver would be a good choice if you don't wash/polish the car every other day . I had 2 black cars and damn what a pain to keep clean, but once clean, looked super hawt!!!

Actually Carbon Silver replaces Silver Alloy.

The Solar Orange is the 07 only color.

What happens if 5 members say black, and 5 say silver? Then you are back to where you started.

Oops, you are right. I get the silvers mixed up.

Solar orange replaces the Intelagos Fire.

San Marino Blue replaces Lemans.

Thanks guys. A lot of interesting little points offered to consider. I suppose in the end I am looking for a reason not to buy the black car. It's here, I can see exactly what it looks like, so I won't be getting any surprises. And to be honest its awesome looking! I just hate black vehicles (the other black "toys" are a Syclone, Typhoon, and a Grand National )

I did find one picture of a carbon silver roadster..

That car looks very nice. But then how do you compete with this?

Oh well, another day to mull it over.

EDIT: These pics are from members on this site. Sorry I didn't ask permission, but I didn't want to go through all 700+ threads again to find the owners.

I think the silver looks really nice with the grey top, but you have to have frost interior which is probably cooler in the summer w/top down. I have Magnetic Black and think the Roadster looks the best in this color. If you wash the car weekly (or more frequently) you should be fine, and as you know, it does show dirt and surface imperfections more than any other color. I also think there are probably few black Roadsters than silver, which seems to be the most popular color.

Black is hot, hott, hotttt! If your the type that likes seeing your car always clean.....get the black because it's automatically going to force you to keep it clean. Just be careful & avoid swirls. Always wash, clean, dry & wax in one direction.
There's nothing out there that can compete with a clean, waxed black ZR.
I guess I'm bias!!

Well, I went down to the dealership again just before closing to take another look at the car. I asked them to find out what other roadsters are in the big city 5 hours away so that perhaps I can go have a look in person. The black roadster here already shows swirl marks from being improperly washed by the lot attendant. Dear, dear. What am I getting myself into now. My son thought the top was cool though.

Black if you can keep it garaged. It is a pain to try to keep it looking clean.

And if you get black, get a California Duster. Trust me, it will come in handy
