Wink Manual vs automatic which is better?

I am sure this has been discussed often but this is my first time on the site and I am buying a 2007 350Z grand touring car this week. I am really questioning which to get an automatic or manual transmission. I had several Z cars in the past then a 3000GT and all were manual. For the last 4 years I have been driving a Eclipse with triptonic transmission which I didn't like. I testdrove the 350Z and both manual and automatic were excellent but I like the interaction with the car using the manual. The dealer says that I will not like the manual in the stop and go traffic here in Las Vegas and also the with the navigation system the manual will be hard to use. Can anyone give some feedback on this or is the dealer just trying to sell what they have on hand.
Thanks
Trish

As far as the navi goes, it doesnt matter if you have auto or manual. You can program it while driving anyway. Just goes to show how much those idiots know.

Manual = fun factor
Automatic = easiness to drive in traffic

If I can do it all over again I would go MT. AT gets boring really quickly.

Come on guys. The original poster does bring up two points that are worth discussing. You're just too quick to flame newbies.
1) The Navigation and manual comment is complete BS.
You aren't programming the Nav for a destination while flying through traffic. It requires some attention to enter addresses etc, so you are usually doing it before you are on the road anyways. Then you just drive along normally and follow the prompts.
2) How does the sales person know what you will get sick of? You have to evaluate this for yourself. Will this 350Z spend it's entire life in bumper to bumper traffic? Probably not. Truth is automatics costs a little more, and they probably have some in stock they are trying to dump. If you liked manual more in the past, that's probably your answer right there.

Considering you're the one who'll be making the paiments on this car, just get what you prefer.

Seems you've already answered your question. You didn't like the tiptronic? Get the manual.
