Well then he blames the father for buying that car for him at that age.

Would not matter one bit, honestly. It's just a matter of lack of ability because of lack of experience.

Yes, kids drive like complete idiots, but so do some of us older folks.

All in all, be careful of very young and very old drivers. If they kill themselves, so be it. At least they did not take anyone with them.

Either way, it is a terrible thing for the family to have to deal with. Veru sad for them.

Sucks the kid died, but cars don't just fly off cliffs for no reason.

im 18 and my heart goes out to all these kids and their family. I do think the driving age should be raised but I've seen some pretty bad accidents where older people were involved in as well. We can only hope that everyone drives more careful and we dont hear about accidents like this. RIP

I strongly disagree. IMO, it's a combination of lack of experience AND lack of maturity.
And yes, older people do some dumb **** too, but not to the degree or frequency of teen drivers. There is a reason for insurance rates being so damn high for teens ya know.

Anyway............sad to hear regardless of the circumstances. RIP

Good point on lack of maturity. I think it is a feeling on invincibilty. Sometimes the lesson is learned the hard way.
I've seen a lot of that around here.
I also agree the most dangerous drivers out there are teens.

18 really wouldnt help in my opinion. I learned to drive when I was 13, and started driving to school since my freshman year, although I did have a POS 94 Eclipse, and all the way up to our senior year, the ONLY people who got into car accidents at my school were the seniors. Granted, me and my lil car clique did stupid s**t but we knew our limits, but half the damn senior class ended up crashing all the old cars and ended up getting even faster cars.

& I am by no means spoiled, I got my Z for $18,000, my dad pays the car, and I pay the insurance. Also, about 85% of all races, that I have been involved with, have been initiated by some 20 something year old guy who's out to show off to all his friends that he can outdrive a teenager.

Nope not spoiled at all. Your dad buys the car and you blame others for dragging.

Damn right! Would you like to pay for a car where you have to get the transmission rebuilt every 6 months, 0-60 time of 17 seconds, the motor overheats at least twice a month, the radio goes out, the window wont go up right, needs new struts, has a caliper that makes noise like crazy, has an oil leak, and you have paid to have these problems fixed multiple times but they still re-occur?

That was my POS Eclipse that I drove for 3 1/2 years. My Z was an early graduation gift from my dad, because theres no way in hell he's going to let me go to college in that damn Eclipse. So yes, I am not spoiled.
