Think I mentioned that Jay may be writing something on the car so he probably wouldn't want to give his impressions away beforehand

Pat, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!

Wish I were you!

I do not understand posters who put Jay's enthusiasm for cars down.....Jealous?

Yes, I am too, BUT.......I briefly met him at a 1/43rd model car show, and he seemed pretty cool to me. A star yes, but a HUGE enthusiast of CARS.

Anyone with 2 Miura's can't be all bad

A favor Pat, ask him about his Jaguar XK 120(140?) that he had tweaked with an updated suspension, transmision, brakes, Hot Rodded engine, etc. Anyone who brings a beautiful classic 1950's Jag up to current driving expectations is my kind of car guy.

As most have been saying but can't be said enough......Great job Pat sharing the info. Looks like Jay is a pretty good guy in and out of the show.

He writes a column for Popular Mechanics, I believe.

Default Saw Jay's Silverstone Z Today

Even though I ordered Silverstone, I was a little doubtful I was 100% on the color.

Not any more. Silverstone is GORGEOUS!

A lot of metal flakes in the paint. As usual, pictures don't do it justice.

Unhappy

Just thought of something I didn't like about the test drive...the Homelink buttons are on the Visor on my wife's Maxima but on the Z they are on the rear view mirror...I would think you would have to use a lite touch or you'll be resetting your mirror all the time...what's up with that

Maybe another convertible or right-hand drive compromise?

That's IT, I'm CANCELLNG my order, I mean I could tolerate the antennae, and the bizarre glove box, the NAV cover, the oddly placed outlet, and the crappy cup holder, BUT HOMELINK on the mirror, I mean GIVE ME HOMELINK ON THE VISOR . . . OR GIVE ME DEATH. But seriously, Nissan did make some rather odd choices on the little things on the car. I mean the NAV cover is just a minor quality issue, but all the other little penny ante things above were concious decisions by Nissan, you gotta wonder what they were thinking.

Ugh. Yeah, I noticed it in the Sport Z Magazine video. I originally wanted to put in a Broadway mirror to help with the blind spots. So much for that idea.

If they did it to conserve parts for the different driver sides, why couldn't they put the Homelink stuff on the top where the sunglass holder is? That's what they did in the Lexus ES 300.

*sigh*

Crud. Now that's one more thing we'll have to test & report on next time we get our hands on one of these Z's.

Just joking, you're a lucky man, and agian the Silverstone pic is GREAT. Car (British mag) did a article on Jay in the issue before the 350Z article, good article if anyone wants to check it out, he sounds like a cool guy, and they got to cruise around in some of his rides to....
