I have received several PM's this evening about a post from the other site by someone from NBC that says "Jay Leno has a Z and was unimpressed"...Let me set the record straight...yes Jay does have a Z for a few days...Silverstone Track...I wasn't going to post anything until I have a chance to talk with him tomorrow but for someone to say that he "heard' Jay was unimpressed is certainly leaving the wrong impression of what he did say..It's not what he said to me face to face..please people, trust me that I will give you accurate information on this soon

That's classic!! I was just about to PM you about the same thing.

It will be interesting to hear what Jay has to say, but I don't think it's going to sway my decision. Would be pretty fantastic pub for the car though if Jay loved it and was shown driving it on the lot!!

I wasn't going to say anything about this till next Monday...there were reasons for my "Embargo"..but rather than try to answer a slew of PM's, I went ahead and posted this thread...BTW..as of this afternoon, Jay had only driven the car about 5 miles..

I think you misread the post. It said Jay was NOT unimpressed, not that he was unimpressed.

 

OK Jay leno drives $200,000 dollar cars everyday, I think it would be pretty hard to impress him with a $30,000 car. So who cares.

 

I'm interested in Pat's connection with Jay, you guys know each other from work? How do you get face time with Jay Leno?

As in, the OPPOSITE of "unimpressed".

Kind of like being impressed.

Which is good, but in the ZCar thread someone said he said (hearsay, your honor!) that he would rather drive a Mustang or Firebird, which is the ultimate insult for a Z-lover. But this is all rumor and probably a bunch of BS.

And regardless of what Jay says, remember he also like Harleys, which are slow pieces of sh*%t compared to high-performance sportbikes. (Sorry, you might like Harleys for some reason, but one of those reasons would not be performance, which is what I am talking about here.)

LOL, I have been to a track day with Jay and let me tell you; his driving left me unimpressed. All the $$ in the world can't buy ability.

 

Jay does have a cool turbine (JET) powered motorcycle though!!

 

its cool his cars are all nice and stuff, but to tell you the truth, i think hes actually kinda funny, better then letterman, so i kinda care also

I am not surprised by the possibility of the Mustang or Camaro comment. Leno is a car guy but I picture him more of a domestic car guy.

So I'd take that comment with a grain of salt if it turns out to be true.

 

Jay is a car guy...period.
Why is it always necessary to put 'catagories' on everything?
What kind of cars did he make his money on when he turned a wrench?

I used to feel the same about Harley's, loud, slow, but then this
V-rod came out and it looks like a piece of sculpture. How could
you not like this? They don't come obnoxiously loud either, people
pay to have them modified. I want a damn V-rod next to my Z in
the garage!

 

OMG! I know nothing about motorcycles but that is BEAUTIFUL! How much does THAT thing run? My wife would kill me but that would look sooooo nice next to my Z!

 

they run just over 18k but they appreciate in time, which is nice.

Jay Leno exists for entertainment purposes only (as does most of California). The fact that he has tons of money and a fleet of Henessey Venoms does not validate why I should care what his opinion of the Z is.

 

I'm sure that bike has never been described as "sluggish off the line"
