Default M/T Shifter question?

Hey guys i just recently bought an 07' 350z touring and i have to admit i love the car, lots of fun to drive. Thing is though My shifter seems to turn or gets skewed when i change gears, and its really annoying since although the feel is the same, it just lacks that support i guess. This is my second M/T car, my other one was a ****ty used mazda 626, but i just thought it was because the car was crap that the shifter could turn. Also in the Z when i try to realign it properly it makes a sound as though the leather surrounding it is stretching it. I can turn the shifter more than 360 degrees in either way, but it doesnt seem to tighten as a screw would. Anyway just wondering if this is normal, or if I should go have a dealer look at it.

be careful twisting your shift **** as it can damage your tranny. Have something hold the shift lever while turning the ****.

Of course!

If its a brand-new car, and it has a defect, why would yu even have to ask that questiom?

When your shifting, the actual shift **** turns?

If so, take it to the dealer and have them tighten it.
