True, but usually there's only one connection to the Internet that everybody goes through. While you see separate IPs, and you may have different sub-nets, V-lans, etc, the outside world usually only sees one.
I disagree, as there has to be a way for the outside world to distinguish between individual units. I bet old Dubya's team can see exactly who at your office is surfing this site, not just that someone is.

what you said is probably possible. But I don't think the staff of cars.com would go through that effort, when it's in their best interest to inflate the number of votes so they can brag about how many people participated. And get more ads that way.
a lot of people love upsets. dont be too cocky about the Z winning THAT easily. it wouldnt surprise me that everyone who voted against Z will once again vote against Z. all the corvette fans, mini fans, bmw fans, porsche fans and scion fans COULD vote against us. but hopefully we win
