The car is powerful enuf. When I see talk on here about not enuf power on a ZR vs Z or "how fast does your car go?", I'm wondering how much power is really enuf? I guess if you track your car then that's different, but on regular road and spirited driving even, I think the stock car has enuf power Wow, what difference is a second gonna make?

Again, I guess I'm just old, I'm not complaining, just an observation.

Thank you +1000

I went through that experience last summer. I was offered a good amount for my car, and the only other car I would want was the Lotus which was twice the money. So I'm keepin her.

On one of days I was pondering, I actually went and drove an Elise. I honestly wasn't that impressed and was happy to drive away in my Z.

I guess I should join the Senior Citizen Z forum (i'm 43 also) with some of you other guys.

I've always modded my cars (typically for speed not looks... I like to be the sleeper in a race), but I've also broken all of my transmissions. Just before the Z, I had a 2002 Maxima SE 6M. I kept that stock except for tinted glass. Tranny worked like a champ for the entire 5 years I owned it. There is enough drama in life without having to worry about who you have to call to tow your car home some rainy night.

BTW... I was still modding past 28 y/o, so it's got nothing to do with age!!!

My car is pretty much stock, only thing I have installed is a Weapon-R ETD. I like the car how it is. Maybe later on, I'll consider modding it, but right now, I don't have the time, or money to do it.

I go back and forth on this issue. Part of me thinks the Z is just fine as it is. I dont want to deal with any added hassles over reliability and in all honesty the biggest thing keeping it from going any faster is me. 300 hp and RWD. That's quite a bit and the fact that its becoming more and more normal for cars to put out numbers like this, doesn't make anyone a better driver.

But then I think about how nice it would be to have 400WHP.
And...well mods would be nice. But i'm cheap.

No such thing as 'enough' power. Just doesn't exist.

I definitely improved the looks by adding 19" rims and wider tires. The pop-charger added a little HP, but made the engine sound damn good. So next is going to be the mrev and spacer. Why? A good mod for little $$ and adds a little more HP and a more deeper engine sound. Just a personal thing I guess to improve looks and HP for my own satisfaction. And yes, this forum gave me all the ideas. Without it I would still be thinking Nissan chromes were the way to go. Thanks for setting me straight. I also agree, there is never enough HP, and at 56, I enjoy the hell out of my Z.

I think stock is fin. Except for the wheels that jsut look WAY tucked in. That was an easy fix, now im happy with a stock car. The springs were free so why not.

Another (mostly) stock Z owner here!

Only changes to the car have been a K&N drop in filter and BFG KDW2 tires.

I got burnt out on modifying with my last car (now DD) and bought the 350Z with the intention of keeping it stock for long while. Perhaps after the warranty expires I'll put on an SC kit or something.

Otherwise, over the next year I plan on adding the Veilside V1 lip and some fresh paint for my currently rock-chipped front bumper.

Right here, man. I agree with almost everything you said. This is also the fastest car I've ever owned, so I'm sure that plays into it.

I'll probably replace the stock rims eventually just to give it some more personality, but that's it.

yah stock is way chill, you don't get pulled over as much, stock cars are generally easier to sell back because they havn't been tampered with, and stock cars tend to be a little less childish, and i'm 20. By the way i'm trying to sell some 19' bronze volk TE37's 9.5 front and 10.5 rear. rims and tires 2 weeks old. PM me for more info.

I'm ancient at 58, but still like to mod my Z. Actually its the fisrt car I've modded beyond rims and a K&N filter.

I had a boosted 04 Z and now I have a stock 06 one. Honestly I have just as much fun with the stock one. I would welcome a mild hp increase, but I also feel like I've kinda grown out of that whole phase.

The more I think about it I find myself wanting a fast stock sedan now...M5 perhaps? I was actually thinking of getting a TL-S 6 speed....now that torque steer is pretty much nonexistant. I loved my TSX so I'm sure I would love the TL

I enjoyed my Z in stock form, but they're even more fun after modding.
I luv to tinker & pritty much mod everything though.
My home pc is even overclocked, overvolted, & water-cooled... Hehehee!

Stock minus aftermarket tires/wheels. You could say I'm enjoying it.

It's a daily-driven beauty:

and oh so fun on the track:
