Default How many of you enjoy your car just STOCK???

I know most of the talks on this website is about modifications. How many of ya just have your car stock? I haven't done any mods to my car and I don't intend on doing it? I'm not cheap, I just don't see the point of it. Maybe cuz I'm old, I'm 28, I went thru my rice-racer stage back in my teens and ended around the age of 20.

The car is powerful enuf. When I see talk on here about not enuf power on a ZR vs Z or "how fast does your car go?", I'm wondering how much power is really enuf? I guess if you track your car then that's different, but on regular road and spirited driving even, I think the stock car has enuf power Wow, what difference is a second gonna make?

Again, I guess I'm just old, I'm not complaining, just an observation.

the z is an amazing car stock, but when you get a little taste of power you get power hungry, but nevertheless its a good stock car but you got to think some people show their cars on here and without extensive mods to the engine bay they will barely get placed

Yea I',am really old too...29. The car isssss.......... powerful enough, but you gotta look at it the mods like this; when you decided to buy a car I'm sure you were looking at a bunch. Bang for buck I bet you decided on the Z because of it's HP. Power is an amazing thing! I was at the Dragway yesterday and when I heard an old Charger roar and pick-up his front end at the line, I was checking my pants to see if I had any brass in it. The yes there is never enough Power. BTW from one Asian to another that RICE-RACER comment is so........so..wrong.

Chances are, if you logged onto this site, the mod bug bit you. If it hadn't previously.

I'm going to start a poll.

The vast majority of Z owners love their cars stock with perhaps a touch of personalization here or there. Wheels are probably the number one mod, especially on the earlier models, and then the pop charger...the sound factor.
I don't need mods, I have all the modded guy's cars on here that I can enjoy and learn about. They're great for their cars and all the $ they have saved me from warnings about the mod bug. IMO

i agree with you, the Z is awesome stock and gets many head turns and has great power. I think it looks awesome with rims for wider tires and better handling ect. I would never put a body kit on it, i think the lines it has are great as is. As far as the motor, it can always be faster and i think its an addiction just to get more HP and TQ to feel and bragg about.

I don't think anyone wouldn't mind having a couple of mods. It just depends on your bank account

Old at 28 LOL. Well, I'm a seasoned 34 and mod my car quite a bit (tastefully). I enjoyed it just fine stock, but modding my cars is my hobby; it's what I do in my spare time to myself for my own enjoyment (it's got nothing to do with any kind of "rice-racer stage", as you put it). I get the satisfaction of taking a stock car and creating something completely unique with my own hands. If you have to ask about it, then you just don't get it. Fine for you; live and let live. Do I have the "mod bug"? Sure, but like I tell my wife whenever she complains about what I'm buying for the car next: I could spend all my free time going out drinking with the guys and going to titty bars... which would you prefer? That shuts her up pretty quick.

egh....I guess it's also because I don't keep my car for more than 2 years that I don't really care for mods...hmmm...then again, I do have a $2000 worth of speakers and amp in my car...oh well....

Yeah, that deffinitely is a factor; only keeping the car that long, modding doesn't make sense. I plan on keeping my Z a LONG time. I ask myself regularly: what would I trade my Z for (that I could actually afford)? And I keep coming up blank, so I'm happy keeping her.
