Good bye 350Z
Looks like I am not going to get a 350Z after all.
After my local Nissan dealer asked for 2500$ over MSRP and a non refundable deposit of 2500$ for a car I never seen, I decided to change my plan.
Today I visited a local Audi dealer and signed the papers for a cute TT 225 hp coup that I will going to pick tomorrow.
This car will replace my late 2nd gen RX7 Turbo 87 which I have to put to sleep recently with odometer reading of 230K miles. I had this car for about 9 years (got it with 120K miles) and it was the greatest success I ever had with a car. Excellent handling (made few modifications), agile, plenty of cargo space, sun roof, extremely reliable, friendly and knowledgeable local mechanic, plenty of after market options and very active user community. If they would still make them, I would get a new one without thinking twice (my mechanics warned me against touching any of the RX7 3rd gens).
Hope that I will have with my new car 80% of the fun and joy I had with my RX7.
Wish you well with your 350Z and I am sure you will enjoy them a lot.
Drive responsively,
Tal

Dude, that's not called for, c'mon. If a dealer was demanding over MSRP for a Z I'd walk away too. MSRP is ridiculous enough.
I don't know if I'd get a TT, but still...

Gish... you're new here so let me be perfectly clear. We don't condone people starting fights or being jerks. If you can't deal with that, find a new forum.
We treat others with respect and most importantly, as adults. If you act like a child, you'll be treated as a child.
If you think someone made a mistake, that's fine but to attack them or call them names, is simply uncalled for.

Zapta,
I'd have to agree with the other poster who stated that if you really wanted a Z, you would have shopped around a bit more. Many of us had to contact multiple dealers to get a fair deal. I personally called 12 before I ordered.
So I think you just wanted a TT, and that's fine.
But now that you have decided on the TT, are you sure you don't want to wait around for 8 months until you actually get it? By not having to wait, you are missing out on a whole lotta fun!

Just out of curiosity,
Do you mind telling how much you paid? I like the TT, it is a nice car..."cute" whatever...I think it looks nice....my understanding is that they cost alot more however. Enjoy your new car.

Took it for a test drive and it felt very well, especialy when accelerating in tight corners.
Main reasons I gave up the 350 are its unavailability, over sticker price (which will be gone by the time you sell the car), the fact that this is a new model that may have unknown issues (see for exampel the drastic reduction of reliability between RX7 2nd and 3rd generations) and the bulky rear strut brace.
My main qualms about the TT were the two rear seat (would prefer more storage space instead), limited visibality, choice of color (I prefer light yellow), limited storage space in driver's reach, and the unavailability of sunroof.
This car is to replace my 1987 RX7 turbo that just quit after 230K miles. Looks like no new car can match it but I hope I will get close enough.
And by the way, the 350Z also looks very cute. ;-)
Drive responsibly,
Zapta
